It was scanned as being in our mail slot. Sent help request to USPS. I notified Ebay seller but it's not their problem, it's on our end.
That's what so frustrating -- the USPS won't take responsibility and/or provide help. Just the standard of don't know anything about it. Your package was probably put in a locker and the key in someone else's mailbox. Seems that so many think that this issue is to be expected from the USPS and no one should get frustrated when it happens to them. IMHO, that's why it's continuing to happen because "we" let the "I don't know anything" staff get off without any escalation up the chain. I haven't provided some specifics in this thread, but have more experience with this issue that I've said and I have gotten results in the past including the replacement of a location Post Master in one long-running situation with our entire community and the termination of a postal carrier in another situation (the carrier finally admitted he had thrown out his entire route of direct mail that one of my customers had paid $1,300 for -- he got fired and my customer got a refund from the post office -- in that case, the location Post Master was instrumental in getting to the bottom of the non-delivery and took the issue seriously). There are a lot of super dedicated USPS staff and management, but also some -- as in any business -- who simply don't care and I don't believe anyone should have to tolerate their indifference and irresponsibility. Mistakes happen, but when it does, USPS should be doing their best to help and not give a "I don't know anything about it" answer.

I live in the village of Santo Domingo, I had a package misdelivered just last week. Amazon alerted me that it was left in a parcel locker, however when I went to my mailbox there was no key. Giving the mail employee the benefit of the doubt, I have gone back to my mailbox to check for a key several days in a row, still no key. So, it seems to me that the key was put in the wrong mailbox. The package did not contain anything particularly important, and it can be replaced, but what if it did contain something valuable? Personally, I find it very troubling that we cannot trust the mail carriers or mail contractors to correctly deliver the mail.

In my case it was a "shrugged shoulder." Fortunately in the end it turned out OK. During Christmas season you ought to look in the "mail house" and it is easy to understand why things get messed up. Boxes and bags piled wall to wall ceiling to floor. Over the last year with many times more people ordering by mail it has become more problematic. They hire "part time helpers" who just add to the confusion.
