My gist from all this:
The USPS is NOT managing its contract workers that deliver mail and packages at the postal stations. I'm not sure how much they are paid, but it seems there are a few slackers. I've had two negative experiences: 1. Mail item placed into wrong box; eventually turned up a week later. Contractors need to be careful - not every resident is here full time! 2. USPS notified me that package was in a locker. I happened to catch the contract employee, and asked "what gives?" Carrier responded that he scans first but doesn't always get the package into the box right away. Our previous carrier only scanned after the box was placed into the locker. Perhaps training is an issue? My solution? I got a PMB for high priority and valuable items, or use FedEx or UPS. One more thing with Amazon: purchaser has little control over delivery method. Could be USPS, FedEx, UPS, or Amazon's own delivery drivers.

I'm glad we have fantastic mail people in Charlotte. If the package is too large for a box, She will deliver it to my house in her personal car using her gas.

It's her job to deliver the packages to your house. She gets reimbursed for using her car and gas.

This is considered rural so you’re not going to get the service that the USPS provides ! You have no recourse ! Post office has a loss every year yet gives the PO general a bonus close to a million. Reform is unlikely.

This is totally on the mail carrier. Amazon can not deliver to the parcel locker. It must have been shipped via the post office.

if it is anything like our postal station who knows what box they put it in. Most people give it back I assume there is a tiny bit of people who enjoy your orders

We live in Monarch Grove Several weeks ago we had delivery confirmation for three packages. Went to the mailboxes no packages no mail. Went the next day no packages no mail. Knocked on the door at the mailboxes and delivery person came out I explained what was going on and he asked me do I check my mailbox every day because my mailbox had been jammed full I told him no I check it every day and there’s been no mail for three days and no packages so he handed me a key and direct me to a delivery box which had two packages in but none of the ones that were missing. Escalated it at Lady Lake post office only to be told they called the contract worker and the contract worker said our post office bags have been jammed full of stuff. Miraculously next day or three missing packages sadly turned up.

Check your front door; it's probably sitting right there.

I don't mind taking them to the correct address - at least that way I know the person did get it.

I check my porch daily. Not left there. Also, Amazon specifically said it was placed in the postal locker. Amazon did schedule a replacement, but I haven't seen that one yet either. Maybe it went to keep the other package company!
