"TV is not a gated community. It is a community with gates." We had not heard of or learned this distinction until AFTER we were sold a home in 2003. Security was a perpetuated illusion.
Some folks call TV a Disney World for seniors. Remember the TV series "The Dome?" TV is a cross between Senior Stepford and The Dome. LOL!

Anybody that visited TV before buying could determine in about a half hour that it was not a gated community.
Complaining after the fact gets no sympathy from me.

I will never understand how people move to the most amazing retirement community in the world and spend their retirement complaining about the developers that built it. For you "northern" folks who think the area south of 44 is so bad, the solution is to not give it another thought. We Fenney folks are a happy community and we can do without the negativity of trolls and northerners that are stuck in the paradigm that existed decades ago when they bought their northern home.

Do lots of research. The new Sawgrass Grove is not a town square like the others. The plans appear to have less permanent style vendor booths. There will be a lot of development in that area including family homes, schools, and health facilities. Make sure you know what’s coming there before committing. Good luck.

No one ever stated that Sawgrass was the equivalent of a square. This again is one of the new experimental builds down here, it appears that it will be a good fit with all of the homes around it and commercial land just across Warm Springs. There has already been plenty of discussion regarding a square being built down here in the area of 470 and the Turnpike which for many of us will be no nearer to home than Brownwood. The family homes, schools, hospital, etc. that you mention are being built much further south and east not near current building and will be similar to those villages up north near the current hospital, shopping, and soon to be built apartments.

Just disappointed in the difference between what they thought they were buying and what they actually have. All said it's pretty much like any other regular place. One community pool, and you commute to everything in a car: beauty shop, vet, groceries, said they even have to get in car and drive to all the classes and craft lessons. Went home thinking I am very fortunate, my day to day life is VERY different from theirs. Probably it's so successful because this is probably what many people are seeking, a lot of seclusion, and used to auto commuting for a dozen eggs, so not a big deal to them I am sure. Hard on those who rented and fell in love with the former villages "life style".
Who is responsible for the disparaging of information? Is it the consumer who did not do their due diligence or is it the sales people who misrepresented the product?

I've said this before in other threads that deal with this subject.........is there going to be another 441/27 corridor in the southern section of The Villages? To me, that is extremely important to have the ability to arrive at that corridor of retail stores, restaurants, and medical facilities in about 10 minutes by car. It is also important to many folks to be able to access part of that corridor with their golf cart.

In closing I will mention that several families that moved from your area to the south did so because of the un-friendly atmosphere where they lived and still cannot believe how friendly and close knit everyone is down here with few exceptions. This is a great area, there are announcements of new projects it seems every week, projects that will add to the enjoyment of living south of 44, there will be few if any changes north of 44, it is a "status-quo" area that you will either love or regret living there and you can only buy used homes north of 44, trying buying a "10" series home up there, they are simply not available anywhere but south of 44.
What is a 10 series home?

You mentioned movie theaters......are there plans for a movie theater south of 44? We have three movie theaters north of 44. It would be nice if those three theaters are not over crowded by all the new residents south of 44. I guess there is always the movie theater in Leesburg to lure the southern Villagers.
