Need new tires for my Camry. Probably looking at a $600-$800 puchase. Heard lots of do's and don'ts concerning tire sales; who is good to deal with and who to stay away from sales. Appreciate hearing of experiences with local tire dealers

Very limited experience (one time) but I was very happy with Wildwood Tire Co. They are on 44 just this side of 301.
You should try searching these forums for past comments on this subject.

Sams is cheapest around here as far as I can tell.

My two cents worth. Assuming, it is a newer car and you have information about tire pressure on your dash, there is a sending unit in each tire they are powered by a battery in the unit. In any case one of mine has failed. According to my reading the life is about 7 years. Dealer will likely tell you to replace them.
I've not bought tires from them but have had good experiences with Wildwood Tire and plan on shopping there. Watching to see what others have to say. |

I used Sam's once and then Goodyear the next time. Goodyear was easier to deal with. Just beware. If you get a deal where you get a rebate on the tires read the fine print. It's a Credit Card that can only be used in certain places. It's not anything you can use against the price of the tires. Good Luck.

I bought my last set of Michelin tires from the Firestone store on Rt 466. They were cheaper and faster than Wildwood Tire and Sumter Tire. But, I think almost any tire store will price match a bona fide price from another seller, except from the warehouse clubs.

I also had a good experience getting tire for my Camry at Firestone on 466. If you go to there website you can order your tires prior to and you will know what the price is.

You can't go wrong with a Goodyear store. I've bought a lot of tires over the years and have had the best luck with Goodyear, Michelin was second but you have to be sure you are comparing apples with apples as they change the names slightly when buying through other dealers like Firestone, etc. I never go over 5 years with tires no matter what the mileage is, I have had several sidewall blowouts with tires 5 or 6 years old and don't want to go through that anymore.

I went online to TireRack.com, picked 2 or 3 sets of tires that thought were a good fit for want i wanted, then went to Wildwood tire. To my surprise they came up with a better deal on higher rated tires, very happy.

We bought our tires at Costco in Lutz (Wesley Chapel area) which is about 50 minutes away. They have free tire rotation and free insurance on the tires.

Second for Costco. We were not done shopping and we were contacted that our Explorer was done. $225.00 less than quotes from other tire stores.
