I found the joke..........

How the Fukarwe Indians got their Name:

The Fukarwe Indians lived in Utah about 2,000 years ago.

They were a peaceful tribe and lived in Teepees on the prarie.

One day it started raining heavily.......and kept on raining.

The prairie started to flood and they were forced to move to higher ground.

And the rain kept coming......and the tribe had to move to higher and higher ground.

Until they found themselves at the top of a mountain.

And the Chief raised his hands to the Sky and shouted.

Where the Fukarwe!!!!..........

It may be a fact that 55% of Scientists surveyed agree with a certain subject. Recent posts regarding global warming or Climate change are examples. Some posters find some way of transitioning any topic to an argument on climate change. A big snowstorm in the southern hemisphere news article morphed into climate change.

So given that statement, I will state an undeniable fact that I was told today that my home cannot be insured by State Farm here in The Villages because it has a roof installed more than 15 years ago, (despite having 20-year guaranteed shingle on the roof that has been inspected as ok). That is a new qualification requirement. (Recall that what was I was told).

Looking for insurance options.

Gee Zeus!, why is everything turn into politics politics politics...... It's bad enough already now with over 2 years to go but it's frightening contemplating what's it's going to be like around here again in another year or so. Yesterday while out walking we passed a home with a literal political shrine spread across it's opened 2 car + GC garage ("celebrating" flag day I assume) in Amelia or maybe it was Mallory complete with full size mannequins and all kinds of paraphernalia. If it's starting already, what's going to happen in a year? This tribal obsession is only going to get worse and more dangerous.

For opinions on services or political BS? I would guess the latter.

In my opinion a lot (most?) of the people who frequent discussion boards aren't looking for discussion, or even information, but validation.

You've had over 6 years of it, not just the past two. Tribalism is strong here in the Villages, and they will insist that denial IS a river in Egypt and any other option is fake news. Where I come from (yep, pulling out that card again, deal with it), the idea of tribalism was "my family, my neighborhood, my town, my community." Here, it's "my political party, my political agenda, my religious pretense."

And - for those who say "just move back" - there are many people living here who came because they couldn't afford where they came from. That hasn't changed. If they could afford to move back - they probably would.

"Just move back", "entitled" and "dog poop" are the 3 most used terms thrown out here on TOTV. Well, maybe "Costco" too. I do agree with you on your last comment as sometimes one is aware of it but not how extreme it is or has become.

Occours when people take a legit post and start posting political rhetoric in response. Then someone advises NDN to remove and it is gone. Another is when people start to belittle other posters.

Should not happen but it does

I love when a political opinion is expressed with respect - it's how our republic is designed to work.

And without any snarkiness. Unfortunately the extremes(left and right) in our society are getting all of the headlines.
