If it is latex (water based) paint, just remove the lid and let it dry out. Then, put it in the regular garbage.

There was an article in yesterdays Daily Sun about " get rid of your hazardous stuff" day, I believe it was for Sumter County. If you don't have the paper call them.

The info can be found on page 17 of this week's District Gov Bulletin. The Sumter County event is next Saturday, 4/10. Here's the link.

South of the Turnpike, kidding. Just fill your cans with kitty litter and let it dry out!

Tape the bottom of a cardboard box and dump it in and let it dry. Leave the lid off and let it dry. Throw away with garbage.

It’s getting incinerated now rather than going in a landfill if you put it in the trash

Default Try Habitat For Humanity

If it’s latex paint in good condition, the Habitat for Humanity Restore make take it to re-use for their building projects. If you give them a call, they make have event dates for latex paint collection.

There is a Lake County ( I believe) site on Rolling Acres. The sign says 'Convenience Station.' Check their website for hours and phone numbers. They take all paint. You don't have to dry it out.

Most paint used in The Villages is latex paint. It is not considered hazardous waste.
