Imagine, every home in The Villages having an antenna. What an eyesore. I have an antenna in my attic and I personally will not have an exterior antenna. The Villages is too nice of a place.
Attic antennas don’t work in some areas of TV. Need the outdoor which we have. It is minimal and not any more of an eyesore than those ugly round vents on the rooftops. It’s simply a matter of what we get used to.

FCC has authority. Not the ARC.

Our restrictions section 9 listed below.
Simply stated ARC stated FCC overides section 9 and outside antennas are allowed.
So what you’re saying, even if TV have restrictions on putting an antenna on the house, just ignor them? I know what you mean because when we lived in TV you weren’t allowed to put a TV Antenna on the house but some homes had antenna’s on house & they never took them down for the 8 yrs. we lived there. Does TV let you put up antenna’s now?

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here: An outside antenna may make a good lighting rod. If good reception can be obtained from an antenna installed in the attic, then that may be the preferred solution.

Default Better OTA reception would result in more antennas

Due to the distance from Orlando, OTA reception is limited to only a few village areas. If OTA was available, you would see a marked increase in the use of outdoor and attic antennas.
The Villages is a gold mine for cable and satellite companies.

I had an Attic antenna & got 45 channels & it faced Orlando. We lived in the Village of Charlotte & at the time we weren’t allowed to have an antenna on the house but I saw 3 antenna’s on houses within a mile or less. But TV didn’t say anything because they didn’t want make anybody mad just like some golfers complained about people & the way they played golf. TV is changing little by little!

That is correct. Needless to say, some discretion and sense of visual propriety should be considered when mounting your antenna.

The FCC ruling has been around for many years so maybe TV didn't want to take on the Federal Government knowing they would lose.

That was one of my first questions before we had ours installed outside. It’s grounded so not a problem. Attic antenna was not the solution. We tried and it didn’t work. Too much metal in the house and can’t get it high enough.

Yes,they have no say..as they are overruled by the FCC.

We are north of 466 and use a attic mounted large multi element Winegard antenna aimed towards Orlando. We receive all 4 major networks and side channels 60 total.
The larger elements are/were for WESH which the last of the VHF holdouts. WESH9NBC is now UHF. A high gain UHF only antenna might be an option. The Extreme UHF shows good gain.easier to install as it has no wide elements but i have not tried it .

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The FCC exemption to HOA outside TV antenna restrictions does not include antennas used for Amateur Radio.
