i just paid to have mine done also. I want the property and area to look great, not wait for an event to knock them down.. In fact I had my neighbors done also, they could not afford to do it but take a lot of pride in their home so it was an honor to have it done for them.

have you found a talk site in North Carolina that takes complaints so you can tell them how good they did things in the villages

You people really don’t get it. I’m not bitching about the villages just the people who don’t get it. NC doesn’t have a site like this thank god. Even these rednecks have more sense than some of the people on this site

TV planted the type of palms where the fronds die off on the bottom and eventually fall off in the wind.
When we first moved here, my wife complained and wondered why they don't trim that
dead stuff off, now we know way.
I guess it's cheaper to just pick the dead fronds up.

Sounds like it isn't the palms but the palm fronds that are down. I was fully expecting the streets to be littered with the fronds. I trust they will get it cleaned up but it will take time.

The "story" I heard is that Sharon Morse liked the look of the "beard" on those tall palm trees and she did not want them trimmed.

Given the maintenance on them very happy all my neighbors have them and we do not.

They do get very tall and a bucket truck is needed to maintain them. I'm also glad we don't have any on our property.

The point that you are complaining. You seem to have issues with the villages for whatever reason so it is good for all that you are leaving.

No, you're not getting the point... It is much easier (and much less expensive) to simply pick up palm fronds as part of the routine maintenance, than to drive around in a cherry picker and trim the dead fronds. They would STILL have many to clean up after a storm, since they are constantly growing new ones as the old ones die...

If you think they can actually trim every single dead palm frond from every single palm so that there will be none to clean up after a storm, you're dreaming...

It says that your join date is June of 21.
I’ve lived here 13 years. The Villages never trim palms on their property….that’s why so many of them have brown skirts hanging down. They know that mother nature will eventually clean things up.
If it’s storming enough that debris is flying….you need to stay home.
If you are going to stay in The Villages , learn to live with the critters and the vegetation. Otherwise move someplace that makes you happy
