Not a big deal usually. But sometimes it is.
Yes. Not only wheelchairs but canes and walkers as many can't easily safety lift their leg high enough to climb the curb. That is the very reason for having the ramp vs curbs at entrances.
Its not a matter of "cooling it" and just ignore it.....it is a safety issue in many cases.

Are these people you mention fat because they are lazy, or are they lazy because they are fat?

it is all about laziness. and folks who feel entitled to do whatever they want to. go ahead, park in a fire zone. who is going to ask them to move? go ahead, coast through a stop sign; afterall you are in a hurry. don't carry your own groceries to your car even if you are more than capable to do it for yourself. afterall, now that you are retired you don't have to do anything for yourself..you earned the right to be obnoxious.

they are lazy and rude and think they are entitled. i go to the library and see that all the time, not parking just waiting. so makes us wonder what are they doing? should I pass or will they move when I pass, could cause an accident.

When they park in the street they are getting exercise, walking further to their home.I think its a great idea.I have been parking in front of "My" home for over 6 years. Thanks what the streets are for.Think of it this way, If you do not like cars on the street, then know one would be going anywhere.
Our streets are more narrow than other places; therefore, if you park on the street and the neighbor across the street does the same, you are blocking delivery trucks and making it a little dicey for walkers and bicycles etc. If you have a driveway, use it and give the rest of us some respect.

I would like to note, that in this thread, the vast majority agree that it is in fact WRONG/RUDE to park in the street when you have room in the garage or driveway.

Just the facts.

How wonderful it is that someone has to dig WAY down and complain about parking in front on Sweetbay! That is being so petty, and I totally agree to let it go! I also don't let people destroy my wonderful day in The Villages!

I agree that you have the most mentally healthy way to handle a situation like that, but on the other side of that coin, why then don't we all park in the street right in front of the handicap ramp or flip our cigarettes on the ground or spit on the sidewalk. I am not sure confronting anyone is the answer, but lets try a list of the top ten most annoying things people do. Put that in as a column in the daily sun. Just perhaps people that do these selfish things do not even realize how they look to the normal person.

Has nothing to do with respect. They are not narrow where I live.delivery trucks have plenty of room. They would not build then if their was not enough room. It is not "dicey for walkers and bicycles , just pay attention to what you are doing. I do not think a vast majority agree with you, just the ones who want to complain do.You just have a good day, and let the petty stuff go.

The vast majority of people park in the right place and do the right thing. There will always be irritating folks, but you can't change that. Move on.

Your right, I would find it convenient to park in the street leaving me with my entire drive way and garage for other things, but I understand that is not the way to respect your neighbors.

Good advice about not letting the little things bother you.

I have done that at Ace Hardwire. Drive up to the curb. Mainly because of the very heavy propane tank I had to pick up. Maybe people have bad backs, arthritis, or other medical problems and need help getting their bags to their vehicles. Publix almost always offers people a hand with their groceries. Does Sweet Bay?
