A couple of 1/4" cables anchored a foot off the ground should stop it.

Our neighborhood pool sits behind my house about 90 yards away. But I would have to cut through a neighbors property in order to get there. Instead, I always take my gold cart and drive all the way around the block to get to the pool. I wouldn't even think of trespassing on their property.
I've thought about asking them if it's OK, but that would put them in an uncomfortable position so I wouldn't do that either.

When we lived in Hadley a few people would cut through our side yard to get to Odell Pool. OP must live on Havana or Ambrosia.

It was just a few and it didn't harm anything.

What did bother us is when someone trimmed back two bushes that screened us from the shuffleboard court on Odells property so they could cut through easier.

I hate to ruin all the drama, but have you ever thought about just being honest?

The next time it happens go out and say "Stop cutting through my yard, you're making me MENTAL, please Knock it off."

All I can say is what I say when ever I hear anything about the different behaviors of people. God is great, beer is good and people are crazy!

That is unbelievable! Not satisfied to be trespassers, they became impromptu landscapers. Was this a motivating factor for you to move?

No. Not in the least. The wonderful neighbors we had there were absolute treasures and the Gardenia is a lovely home.

We moved because we were going to live here year 'round and there are three of us and we were used to a little more space.

I don't think it matters what you do, some people are just rude and inconsiderate. We have navel orange trees in our yard and without fail, people pick the fruit from them whether we are watching them from our lanai or not. I once sat in my living area to see someone with a bag and handful of fruit from our tree. When I went to the lanai to inquire, they simply smiled and said "Hi" and kept picking the fruit. Who knew people could be so IGNORANT??????

Never heard that word used, I had read it, never heard it spoken, and certainly couldn't spell it, before we moved here.

Back home in Ohio it is called balls. OR bad manners. Depending on how mad it makes you.

Wink

Chutzpah - a New York thing (Yiddish is right).
It's really a good word for someone who is so thoughtless
that it defies words.

Turn on your lawn sprinklers when you see someone picking the oranges.

Default All's even

I remember a story my mom told of a person in their neighborhood who always stole the next door neighbors oranges and grapefruit. The neighbor posted a sign at the base of the trees.(I know you couldn't in the villages)
It read
Good trade
My fruit for your car.
I will be by to collect soon.
