Simply because someone MUST do it (crap on golfers) because so MANY people in La, La Land are OVERLY enamored by the SKILL (I won't call it a game) (just like shooting pool on a LARGE, WASTEFUL table). The game just BEGS to be criticized. So, I help bring back perspective to the ACTIVITY (swing a BIG club at a helpless LITTLE ball - then jump in a polluting, stinky (your nose knows that IS true) and chase the little bugger down the BIG green waste of land.
.....I think with a screen to catch a drive and a 2nd shot that through good electronics and A.I. that a REALLY good approximation of the less important shots (drive and 2nd shot) would work out just GREAT. Then a golfer could just WALK to a nearby P + P hole and finish up with the SKILL shots
........Walla....... the combination of the 2 would yield ALL the advantages of the regular long and wide fairways game........ and with none or fewer of the DISadvantages. I rest my case your Honors.

My wife a "racist" ? Oh, bite your tongue. My wife does NOT take a joke like I do. She worked in a certain subdivision of the CIA that let's say........does NOT bring back prisoners.

Actually, I will use this opportunity to make this a learning experience. In TV Land and most other resorts, the pools NO LONGER use Chlorine. They have a better alternative (less caustic). You can open your eyes underwater without experiencing a burning feeling. I don't have the exact chemical formula for it, but it is something like bicarbonate-something? See, I made everyone around me smarter. More people should adopt a similar attitude.
......And I COULD do a nice rail against Pickle's Ball if you insist.

Default 160 is 160

When they record your hole in one, they don't give the weather report, only the distance, it is what it is. You may have played it for more or less but it is the yardage associated with the hole in one.

Some people and posters here can be SO Snooty. Better than tho. My way or the highway. Do as I say not as I do.

Some look down at others. That’s fine if you live on the second floor. But don’t TALK DOWN to us.

My gut tells me that some of these folks were bullies in school when young.,.

When asked if I’ve had a hole-in-one, my standard response is: “Three, BUT one was on an executive course.”
That being said, congratulations are always in order for any hole-out more then 2’ from the cup!
Executive courses only have 9 holes.

Walla (sp)?

Someone MUST do it? No, a sane person would ignore threads that don't interest them. But, as usual, you just can't help yourself...

All you've done is explain that you know absolutely nothing about golf and that you're nothing but a TROLL who feels he MUST crap on golf threads...

What about golfers with EVs? Are they allowed to play? And when I play golf, I don't smell the carts at all. I smell freshly cut grass... But you wouldn't know that so, as usual, you make up garbage...

Do you have a clue as to how expensive those golf simulators are? That you can't just leave them outside all day, as the heat (and humidity) will destroy them? (they ARE computers, after all...)

And which shots are "less important"? The all count as 1 Stroke... Which are the "skill shots"? Oh, right, you know nothing about the game, so there you go, making up more garbage...

Baseball (which you'll have to agree, is more of an exertion than golf) is someone swinging a big wooden bat at a helpless little ball...

Tennis (one of your favorite sports) smashes a sweet fuzzy widdle ball with a racquet, propelling it at well over 100 mph... The HORROR!

Do you participate in ANY competitive sports? I'd wager you don't... Were you the guy picked last in gym class? Is that why you hate competitive sports so much?

P.S. The correct spelling is "Voila"... Please don't try to be erudite... It doesn't suit you...

Is that a threat? All I did was ask a question. Notice the (?) at the end of the sentence? It's called a "question mark". It signifies the preceding comment is a QUESTION...

Championship courses have at least 2 par threes per 9 holes (some have three), if they also have a 3rd par 5 (like Southern Oaks...)

Well, you still don't get it. That's OK, doesn't matter anyway.

Exactly!! That ball they chase around after, causing all kinds of stress and then of course afterward, when they have made let's say not the best shot, there are a million excuses...the wind, their stance, the club...all so funny to the listeners.
I agree with you, put away that frustrating game and really get some mind clearing exercise.....my doctor says the same thing....and he's a very smart man!

As I approach 70, I'm finding more and more courses are too much from me from the whites. I fear the Greens are just a birthday away.
Thanks for a honest post. I have lived on a couple of championship courses and watched many “ego golfers” playing from wrong tees. It’s a much higher percentage of golfers than you would think. It’s especially prevalent among us senior golfers. IMHO a hole in one is a hole in one no matter if it’s 75 or 175 yards.

But you have 14 chances for an eagle every time you play an 18 hole course. No limited number of clubs... how many of those have you had...? Just curious, they celebrate those also.
BTW, executive courses are only 9 holes.
