Default Plantar Faciitis

Can anyone tell me a good brand, attractive shoe to buy for the condition of Plantar Faciitis? I am so tired of wearing sneakers and I also have a function to attend.

Superfeet Inserts. They work in all shoes.

After your function is over, and you take your shoes off, try this (as goofy as it sounds).

Get out a can of soup. Or a rolling pin (you're going to put your foot on it, so you might want to bear that in mind when choosing your implement). Or anything else that is hard, and round, and about the same diameter. Put the can / rolling pin down on the floor, on the round side. Now stand up. Put your PF plagued foot on the can / rolling pin, and press down a bit. Now roll the can / rolling pin back and forth with your foot, trying to cover as much of the arch of your foot as you can. Press down as hard as seems appropriate, while rolling back and forth.

Ahhhhhh. Doesn't that feel nice?

Naot shoes with orthotics. Some of the Naot shoes allows you to take the inserts out and put your own in. Dansko shoes made my PF worse. I know they work for many however, did not work for me.

Another vote for Naots, I love them. My foot doctor swears by Naots for P.F. And some are quite dressy with great colours and bling.

I don't have a foot doctor, thank God, try the Super Feet. Trust me. At least google the web for them.

If you are ever looking for a new everyday shoe, Niki Shocks are a miracle for PF. When I first developed PF I tried every orthodic shoebed, insert and cushion I could find. Finally, someone recommended I try niki shocks. I was completely recovered in days! I can wear a dressy low heel for a evening out without too much difficulty as long as I slip back into a shock the next morning.

Another PFer here who appreciates the shoe recommendations. I'll definitely check them out.

Do most of you have doctor-fitted custom orthotics? Mine fit well into my dressier shoes, unlike most store-bought orthotics I've tried.

Default Pain

It hurts sooooooooooooooooo bad. No one wants to be in this club.

Had several try to fix me up. Doctors Podiatrists PT staff etc. Now a Orthopedic is having a MRI ordered for me.

Tried all of the above good advise treatments and shoes and inserts nothing works. Even the rolling frozen can.

Mowed lawn one day woke up to a year of left foot pain.

Well there is one thing that seems to help.Less stress and a couple week visit in TV

Had several years of pf problems, tried orthodics made by podiatrist, wearing surgical boot, finally was diagnosed with ruptured tendon and had a "tendon transfer". Surgery involved going up into the leg and "transferring" a tendon to the place needed. Three incisions, long recovery, but worth it. Now I can shop nearly the entire day without having to rest my old feet.

I fill a water bottle 3/4 full and freeze it. Then use it on the floor to roll on my arch. Helps alot for pain and swelling.

Default Shoes for PF

Hi:
I have had PF for years. I even had shock treatments on my foot. I find that the Easy Spirit Travel Time tennis shoes work for me (open back). Also the Yellow Box flip flops at Belk are awesome. I also find that once the shoes start to get older the arch breaks down and it's time to replace them because the pain comes back. For dress shoes I wear Easy Spirit. You can find them at www.easyspirit.com for a wider selection. I don't have the pain anymore unless I stand in one spot for too long.
