I've seen the last dog I want to see flying out of the golf cart ever. Please highness them in. I guess the same goes for grandchildren. If you don't know the dangers then you shouldn't have either.
I'm sure I'll catch a lot of flak for the statement. I don't really care if it saves anybody some heart ache |

I once witnessed a young father cradling his few-months-old baby in his LEFT arm while steering his golf cart with his right hand going what seemed to be pretty much full speed. I think his father or father-in-law was riding in the passenger seat. Very scary.

Years ago when i was here for the first time in a rented golf cart, i had my pup in my lap. I was passenger. We came to an abrupt stop and she flew out. She was unhurt thank God....but never, ever will I let her ride without being harnessed in. I was a newbee at the time and stupid!! |

I absolutely agree with you one thousand percent. Body harness, not a leash around the neck. Think about it.

Sometimes I see children in precarious positions on golf carts, and I know the parents and grandparents would be devastated if anything happened. All dogs should be securely tethered with a harness, not a collar. Let's protect those we love.

Okay, I give. Mom, my aunt and I are coming down in December with my puppy. The home we are renting comes with a 4-seat golf cart. I've driven a cart many times but never with Lexi. Lexi always wears both her collar (with her ID and tags) and her harness when she is outside. She rideis in a Snoozer car seat in my Flex but what do you attach the harness to in a golf cart? Just curious. I don't want her or my 91 year old mother to fly out of the cart!

This is how we used to roll. My girl is a bit older now, so rides are limited... rear legs are too weak <sad, I am not ready for her to go>
I must admit, I never felt stupid once... ![]()

She always looks happy in all your photos. Our Bailey loves the cart.

There's always one "negative nelly". Our pups love to ride in our carts and there is no reason why anyone shouldn't be able to do that with theirs, provided the dogs are strapped in securely. Ours have body harnesses which we run the seat belt through and then we have leashes attached to the basket frame than straps to their harnesses also. They are not coming off that seat.

I don't think the purpose of the thread is to discourage having dogs or grandchildren in the golf carts. It is a reminder to be safe. Over my 60 something years on this planet, I've done things without a thought. When I look in my rear view mirror of life, I thank the good
Lord I'm here.

Our neighbors were riding in the cart with their dog. The dog saw another dog and jumped out and they ran over their own dog. So sad. It can happen. Please take care of your pets.
