I was hoping somebody here, not just me, would know about Gwen Stefani and
her hollaback girl song. (Imagine that one being played on The Villages radio
station. Probably not until 2060.)

Unlucky as I am with internet searches, I could not find a link to Gwen's song
that would play here. That's O.K. because Gracie won't like it.

I could post it but only with Tony's permission. I actually love the music in the song. I think it is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. It was a standard in a Jazzercise class I took a few years back.

I found it too. You couldn't post it because it has the word sh**, MANY times. It appears that a fella wants to fight with another one behind the bleacher and says that he ain't no (cheerleader) hollaback girl.

Is that right?

GREAT MUSIC. Toe tappin!

Easier than posting it Gracie, do a Google search for YouTube. When you get to the YouTube site, search at the top in their search window for Hollaback Girl-Gwen Stefani. It's not a vulgar video or anything I think you'd find offensive. Just alot of bootie shaking and midriff showing. BTW, the singer/songwriter in the video will be 41 years old in October!! She's been sneaking into the swimming pools at TV at night getting rejuvenated.

Gracie, the YouTube video actual skips over the profanity that you read in the lyrics online and you don't hear the word...umm...you know.

You know how some people post a link here to a YouTube video. That's what I wanted to do, and could not find one.

Good morning,

And oh my goodness. What in the world are you talking about?

Like I explained here last night, I know that "hollaback girl" in the context originally used by chuck meant that gracie was a cheerleader. And even though her skirt might have been plaid and not a mini-skirt, I bet the boys liked to sit next to her in class, too, just like the cheerleader that chuck got to sit next to in 10th grade English. (Haven't you ever noticed that gracie looks like Mitzi Gaynor and probably has legs like Mitzi's, too. The legs are the last thing to go, you know.)

And, about that song, I do not know that one either. But I have been wanting to tell you all about a new song I learned. We have been on the road and while visiting some friends, we were taken to a place to hear some live local entertainment, country music and blues, too. Two of my favorite kinds of music. I can request songs for quite a while in a place like that. And Mr. Boomer keeps the tip jar fat.

Anyway, we were with a group of retirees who were regulars at this place. They had a favorite song that I had never heard. They knew all the words and sang along with the chorus.

I am going to link it here, even though it is not even close to midnight. It comes with a warning, in case anybody thinks they might be far too "cultured" for such a song. I found the link on youtube and I will be finding it on iTunes soon so I can buy it. If you want to listen while you read TOTV this morning, just crank up your speakers and minus the link to the bottom of the screen and see just how "cultured" you can be.

The song is called "Meet Me With Your Black Drawers On."

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-__IOnHlC8[/ame] EDIT: i ALWAYS CHECK MY LINKS AND FOR SOME REASON i DID NOT CHECK THAT BEFORE i SENT IT. -- Anyway, if you want to hear it, go to youtube, type in the title, and click on the one that says Gloria Hardiman. I apologize for messing up the link. I got in a hurry. Gotta get out of here this morning before I get kicked out.)

Can you imagine if somebody looks in here, expecting a thread about the POA. Ohhhhh, this thread jumped the track long ago.

Boomer

Here's Gwen, with the bad word blipped. (I don't know why.)

Gracie will love the cheerleaders. I know.

The Google spider tracking me this morning is going to have fun. It has seen me search RollingStone magazine, YouTube, Hollaback Girl, Meet me with Your Black Drawers On and Kahlil Gibran...oh my goodness, I can only imagine the advertisements that will come my way!!

Thanks for the definition! I always liked the song but had no idea what a hollaback girl was.

OK. This thread has gone so far off track that even I -- the self-proclaimed Queen of the Hijackers -- am completely confused. Which one in the video was gracie?
