I had a relative that flew in last weekend from out of state. She went home. I have one relative from out of state joining us for Thanksgiving as well as a local friend. We will be eating in and socializing as normal. We are opening our home instead of visiting others this year. That way, if someone is reluctant to socialize they can send their regrets rather than worry about someone bringing an infection into their home. I am not going to allow mass hysteria to dictate my life, but if others wish to be cautious so be it. If everyone just stays away from me, then they will not have to worry about what I do to protect them when I am out and about. No one will be wearing a mask at my home unless they wish to. If you come to my home, you are responsible for your own protection.
FYI: the other day I had a discussion with a neighbor couple in their 80's. They had the virus in Feb and they are doing fine now. He was hospitalized. Next stop, FLU SEASON. Are you going to wear your masks for the Flu season?

I am actually looking forward to staying home and having a peaceful day. I will cook a minimally processed organic skinless turkey breast and make a cranberry apple dressing. Everyone should do whatever they are comfortable with but not put pressure on anyone else. We still turn down invitations to parties and get togethers and I still don't go to restaurants, etc. What frustrates me is people who have actually pressured me to HOST a party as I'm just not comfortable with that type of commitment.
Everybody's circumstances are different. Looking back, I realize that 2020 is not even in my top 3 of worst years ever. I try to be grateful for what I have. Staying safe, wearing masks, etc is an inconvenience, but a piece of cake compared to dealing with health problems and toxic relatives. The positive side for me was that the pandemic lockdowns helped to release me from a major stressful burden. I do try to look on the bright side of things but also worry about if things get worse. There is no guarantee that 2021 will be any better. Just take care of yourselves and each other and hope for the best. Good luck to us all.

Wont miss the annual
warfare that takes place at thanksgiving gatherings. Sometimes like the gun fight at the ok corral. Come to think of it sometimes like talk of the villages. |

. right... I'm not sure what's worse - talking religion, COVID, or politics. But, ALL THREE this year over the T-Giving table. No thank you - glad we're solo at home. And at least the turkey won't talk back. . .

Most really don’t put much thought into how others choose to live their lives. Some think the control of someone else’s life is their life’s goal. There are over 100,000 people here, only a small percentage actually come to this site.

Our plans changed.
Our Son, D-I-L, 2 granddaughters ( 3 1/2 & 6 mos.) and our grand pups are coming to our house. They can come because they are both working from home. Yay!
