With as many residents and homes in the Villages, it is understandable why rules have to be in place and it is difficult to get exceptions to the rules, if an exception is granted, great, but if not, I don't think the Villages would be out of line to stick to the rules as written, plus residents are promised certain things for the amenity fees they pay and it is not unreasonable for them to ensure the rules are followed.
IMHO...that being said, there are always options. Another option is to go outside the Villages and get a guest pass at the YMCA sports pool, there is a location in Ocala and it appears they have open lap swimming daily at their facility..."Frank DeLuca YMCA of Central Florida" Frank DeLuca - YMCA of Central Florida
Additionally, there may be other local gyms with pools or parks with pools and a bit of internet research should bring up a few more options.
