For every person that loves parades, you can find 2 that find them an inconvenience. I vote for 100rds of celebrations, but no parades.

People need to remember this is not a resort where the owner/operator is obligated to provide entertainment for the guests. The developer built a community with certain amenities. He is not responsible for providing a never-ending stream of events. I suspect that this decision was the result of increasing problems involved with running the parades as the population increased. Similar to the buffalo problems.

The only "buffalo problem" was the fact a few buffalo were wandering around land worth a fortune if it was developed. Now it's developed and the buffalo are somewhere else.

Despite all the verbiage regarding dozens of alleged lawsuits, nobody ever produced any evidence of even one being filed.

Nobody denies Morse is a successful business man. So stop and think what makes more sense from a business perspective, development or vacant land.

residents rallied to an unofficial rumor/what ever and protested enmass in front of the Morse clan and obtained an unofficial reversal......

some folks are so easily sucked/suckered in and satisfied with no evidence of basis what so ever.

You're my man, Billy. Will you run for public office? You say it clearly and with no meaness.

People do not JUMP to conclusions here. They leap, catapult and soar. And forget about that the Village Voice was quoted again and again.

When there are parades, some of us will remember that there were none called off and some of us will gloat that they were "reinstated". Whatever floats your boat................and makes your little hearts happy.

This is a little slice of heaven...with lots of spice and excitement.

Default Other possible headlines:

1. Porcine Migration Noted Above Lake Sumter Landing
2. Wintry Blast Causes Ice Storm In Hell
3. Snowball Survives For Days In Hades
4. Overeating Causes Obesity in Chance
5. Odds Released Today, Prognosticator Reports Slim and None

Just some humor here. I like parades..............but they are not why I moved to TV.

Ms. Tutt said there would still be "holiday" parades. Nowhere that I saw did she define what qualified as a holiday. My understanding (rumor I heard) is that this does not include "ethnic" holidays like St. Patricks, German,Italian, Dyngus, Cinco de Mayo, whatever. If you are the Italian club or the Irish club etc. that would be the clarification needed.

TV spends a literal fortune on entertainment that is free to us, 363 nights per year, at two town squares that just a couple of years ago served about 70,000 people. That is 363 nights x 4 hours of union musician wages for 2 or more musicians x 2 squares.

Add to that now, a third town square and the population is now around 90,000 and will grow to at least 100,000. This is another location at which the developers are providing nightly entertainment in addition to the first two squares--live music, free to everyone, regardless of whether they don't spend even one cent, nurse one drink all night that they got as a two-for-one during Happy Hour, or whether they buy $100 worth of booze at the bar huts on the squares.

It's embarrassing to see so many people pouting and looking a gift horse in the mouth. Parades are usually sponsored by community groups! And while the developers provided these parades to indirectly attract home buyers, I think the developers also provided these festivals and parades to directly cultivate a sense of community....actual residents having the time of their lives....which is then highly attractive to buyers.

If the community spirit were not genuine at these events, they would fall flat. Community spirit is beneficial to BOTH residents and the developers wanting to attract home buyers!

I say "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" and be thankful for the unparalleled entertainment we do have!

Default Possibly

All this fuss about parades maybe stopping. Here's a thought. When we have a Parade people complain about those who get there early and save tables and chairs and then nobody sitting in them, horrible vendors, to many people and oh yea they drive home after drinking all day. Maybe the powers to be got tired of hearing those complaints and decided to stop the parades. So in that case they did those complainers a favor.
