Default Progressive ins.- good?

We decided to transfer to Progressive Ins. for our vehicles as it offered us a great rate. Then I got a renewal notice for next 6 months and was shocked to see the rocket increase (more than $375 increase for only 6 months). We are excellent drivers with no traffic violations and no accidents. We called the ins. co why it increases that much. She said the recent offer was just a promotion. What a joke! So, we had to look for another ins. and got a great rate (the other ins. co was our former ins.and should have stayed with it). It still has our file. Chas

We were with Progressive & we dropped them after yrs. Because they doubled our home & car Ins. And all Insurance rates will keep going up until they bankrupt us or go out of business. Just my feelings!

good if they retain you as a customer
bad if they drop you because they are dropping all seasonal / rentals / non full time residents. .

I would renew with them if their annual increase isn't more than about 3-5%
because they are a large national insurer with deeper pockets than the smaller/regional insurers

Progressive is no longer writing in FL as of 12/31/24. You should have gotten a letter. They are referring their customers to Loggerhead.

I hope I can stay with Progressive as I am pleased with how they handled the damage claim on my sailboat in Hudson and how they are replacing my damaged roof in Lake Deaton at no cost to me.

I've had Progressive for about 10 years. I had 2 accidents within 3 years. They forgave the first one and rate didn't go up. They did not forgive the second so my rate almost doubled. My agent could not find an insurance company that would cover my car for the same rate. All quoted a higher price. I'm just thankful that Progressive didn't cancel me. I'll pay the higher rate and hope they will adjust next year. I would stay with them if the rate is reasonable for you.

Them and State Farm are not doing home insurance anymore. They will be dropping you some time soon.

Had progressive for several years and they went up over $1000.00 in one year we never had any claims. Went to AAA and bundled More coverage and cheaper plus we now have Umbrella.
