CSST has been known to fail from both a direct lightning strike to a home and an indirect lightning strike in the vicinity of the home.

Galvanized black is the only way to go with LP, lighting or not.

Thank you for the idea about pool equipment - I appreciate helpful ideas!

I would bet the pool equipment was included with the review and permits for the pool installation. So I agree completely that this type of equipment is seen all over the villages, however, I am sure there are specific locations where these are 'typically approved for". For example all of the locations I have seen locally have the pool equipment located near the A/C unit, even if this is on the other side of the house from the pool. I would still make sure ARC approves before spending any money.

I also miss cooking with gas.

I was told that cooking on an "induction" cooktop is very much like using gas. It provides immediate response that you do not get with conventional electric cook tops. We spoke at length with our Designer when we did our Home Design meeting.

The price tag is pretty high, so we did not go for it then. But I am still considering one in the future.

Anyone have one? How would you compare it to gas?

If it "cooks like gas" it would be a much less expensive alternative. Also easier to install, no "construction" time involved.

My wife is an excellent cook who swore 1) she would never use anything but gas, 2) she would not have a tile floor, and 3) she would not have dark cabinets.

Today we live in a home south of 466a with electric cooking, tile, and dark cabinets. We are both thrilled with our home. I'm not saying she wouldn't take gas over electric if it was a reasonable choice, but electric hasn't been a problem at all.

Is it really worth that much to you?

Good luck either way.
