The OP is asking for info on electronic transfers. Checks/cash can always be used.

PayPal itself is not a credit card just like your bank and its checks are not credit cards .

Default PayPal Venmo or zelle

My neighborhood uses checks exclusively… I have personally had negative experience with PayPal but use Zelle and Venmo easily. The problem is people must set it up in order to use it and many are reluctant to link their accounts. Checks may be old fashioned but more seniors are comfortable with it.

I would like to point out that venmo has absolutely no controls and safety if you pay the wrong person and type in the wrong email address. It is a way for your bank to get some of the business away from PayPal. PayPal itself has been around several decades now and has certain fees associated with it depending on how you pay or get paid. Upwards of 3%, if you use it funding Julia credit card if you take money out of your bank and connect your bank and the other person will get a check I believe it's zero .
PayPal is by no means perfect but you have two choices when you fund it and when you send money one is for paying a retailer where there's a few more checks and balances the other one is when you pay friends and family where it's presumed it won't be any fraud. Further PayPal now has hey debit card as well as credit cards associated with their name. Personally if you're going to get money from members or was suggest simply going with cash if it's once a year. However PayPal does have a monthly subscription link which is great for that type of club and wants a small amount of money every month

Huh?

I've had several disputes about not receiving paid for items w/Paypal. They refunded my money every time...

Great. Thanks for sharing. Has nothing to do with the topic, but whatever...

A lot of talk but no one answered your question. We are also looking into this for our AED program. I think Osceola hills social club uses electronic payments. You may try contacting them. Good luck

Pretty sure Venmo is the same. I've used it with zero problems...

And I'm pretty sure Paypal doesn't hare a fee if you're simply transferring money, like a gift... The make their money there with the float...

Everyone gets what OP is asking for. However, electronic transfer for clubs is probably few and far between. We use Zelle to transfer money, for lunches, but many in our groups are only comfortable with, checks, or cash. Electronic transfer has been discussed at 2 clubs, however only about a third was on board.
My parents would write a check, or pay cash, but electronic transfer would be a hard no for them.

It’s most definitely a generational thing.

I belong to five different groups here in TV. All groups have a leader/President. NO one gets paid anything for their service! Don't understand what prompted your comment. The only people paid to my knowledge are the people who teach classes in the Enrichment Academy.

Wondering where you thought my post stated a head volunteer was being paid for their Time! If they were paid volunteer is no longer a correct term.

Original post at the top, maybe you misinterpreted my post on how our clubs use dues to enrich the club experience.

I think a club (such as a Villages' club) can register for a personal account and not as a business. Is that true?

The fee structure is unclear to me.
I think that the following is the case:
1. If you use PayPal (or other form of digital payment collections) and the payee uses his checking account or PayPal debit, then there is no fee for either party.
2. if you go from member credit card to club's bank account then the credit card user is charged a fee.

is that correct?

Have you been happy using digital payments like PayPal?
If not, why?

thank you so much for answering.
We belong to two state clubs. Both operate on cash maintained by former accountants. The villages can audit records. We’ve experienced no issues with misdirected funds.
