For sure they are selling more than 3,600 a year. But what is the number?

If someone is about to close, when they go for their closing, they should just ask how many closings they are doing a day to their closing agent. And then how many agents are working on closings. Voila! It woudl be interesting to know.

Closing are posted in the LSL Sales Center.. Also in Brownwood and mist likely in SS but I did not go into SS.

The closings posted in the Sales Center also include pre-owned. Ours was listed and we bought pre-owned. So if you add pre-owned to the number from yesterdays paper, the "sales" number would be significantly higher than 3000. Statistics can be viewed various ways.
We are south of 466a and love it. Have great neighborhood with active drive way socials each month. Very friendly and nice folks. Traffic bad this year, but I'd rather be with a lot of nice people, than a few grumpy ones that are snowed in!!! (I'm in Michigan right now for a few days and getting grumpier by the snow flake)

First of all if you would shop at 9am instead of 12 pm or shop at 5pm or later, even in the busy season would find it okay. Publix has all 12 checkouts working busy times and i have never seen 10 deep and i work there. Will help when new one is built or go to sweet bay when 2 deep is a crowd. As for golf if you consider off site once in a while like today there is a coupon in the paper for twin oaks, 99 bucks a foursome and you get hot dog chips and soda. Went there last week and it is a nice course. The biggest problem here is if you don't have a priority during the busy season you don't get times and courses you want. As for practice ranges i have no clue.

First off to the poster that moved here in 2006 the population has probably grown by 40K+ since then, It's February everybody who could possibly be here is here plus guests so yea it's crowded. As for the Golf courses I can't comment as I don't play. Yes you'll wait longer at a restaurant and that's a good thing because crowds are what brings more businesses. As for the Publix in Colony yes it's very crowded and will get much worse with 2200 more homes coming to Fruitland Park area. But I go at 7AM and I'm in and out back home and unpacking in an hour. I don't see the new Publix in Brownwood taking that many people away from Colony. Sweetbay certainly hasn't had that big of an effect on Colony. If your not happy or your surprised with the crowds then all I can say is you didn't do your homework before you moved here period. So grin and bare it April is coming. JMO

Default Love bugs will solve the problem

The Love Bugs will solve the problem. Every year when the Love Bugs come the Snow Birds are gone.

The Snow Bird is a very smart bird. It seems that the Snow Bird does not like the taste of the Love Bug so the Snow Bird leaves just before the Love Bug arrives.

I have seen this happen every year that I have lived hear.

You gotta love the Love Bug! They solve the crowding problem.

Just don't drive to fast while they are here. They will sacrifice their life to slow down automobiles.

The Love Bug doesn't seem to know the difference between north or south of 466A it goes everywhere. They even go to Stonecrest!

If you are still up and dressed and not dancing at the squares, the Publix at Colony is a WONDERFUL place to shop at 8:30pm!

but to be honest, I have never seen the checkout lines very long....they schedule the checkout and bagging personnel according to the volume of shoppers.

I don't know what to make of that. Either it was misquoted two years ago or they are not selling as many now as then. Why would they be building at breakneck speed if they are selling less now than two years ago? Puzzling.

I heard from a third party that the Developer actually has fewer general contractors, however, since they no longer build "custom homes" they can build them faster.

I don't know if that answers your question or not?
