As much as I hate NY, they do have a law that requires pet owners to pick up after their dogs. We did it when our Corgi was alive, and it just isn't a big deal to do. Maybe TV needs to pass requirements, let people video offenders and turn them in for healthy fines.

When you see someone letting their dog do his business in your yard instead of peering out the crack in blinds and watching it
Grow a pair and go tell them to get off your lawn and pick up the í ½í²© pretty simple |

I agree. I have nothing against dogs (used to own them) and they always pooped in our yard because of our fence. Since we moved here, I have often wondered why people don’t allow them to poop in their own yards. Not all of us have dogs and don’t like seeing them poop in our yards, even if it is picked up because it leaves residue. I don’t like walking in my yard near the street because of this. Just my thoughts since I don’t have dogs.

Community Watch or Community Standards WILL NOT remove anything that has not had a complaint called in by someone in the neighborhood.

I don't want your dog pooping on my property or any of my neighbors property especially if you live 2 or more blocks away. Have your dog poop on your property or on your next door neighbors property. See how long that will last, LOL

Sorry. Not buying it. If the dog needs to go, she will go. Try not taking her for a couple of days and see how many "accidents " she has.

I read through this whole thread and, have unfortunately come to the conclusion that MOST Villagers should not be dog owners, they don't have a clue. NO IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE DOG, BUT IT IS THE IGNORANCE OR LAZINESS OF THE OWNER.
Get rid of retractable dog leashes and use a short leash so that you can control where your dog relieves itself. Do not take your dog to another area to relieve itself, it's your dog keep it in your neighborhood. Carry dog poop bags and use them and take it home with you instead of throwing the bag in the curb or in the storm drains. Yes, you do that .... there is a storm drain outside my home and I have watched you throw your waste in the drain. For those of you who KNOW how to own a dog a BIG THANK YOU. |

A reasonable request is to pickup after your dog.

Good luck. Dog owners don’t care about anyone else.

What you allow in your yard is your business. Just because another dog owner is more tolerant, does not mean that someone else MUST be of same mind when it comes to health and sanitation. Some of us mow our own lawns and do not wish to step on a neighbor's dog's residue and then track into our home. Some dog owners will never understand, just like some folks that do not like or tolerate cats will never understand those that do. Anyone that assumes that it is ok for them to allow their dogs to relieve themselves on someone else's property, are irresponsible and selfish. I wonder what a dog owner would think if I was to use my smart phone remote control of my sprinkler system to suddenly come on when they are in my yard. Would that be unreasonable? After all, it IS my property. I love animals, but my property is my castle and I do not tolerate inconsiderate neighbors that believe they can drive on my lawn or walk their dogs on it. I use chemicals on my lawn and landscaping and I do not wish to harm animals. It is not my responsibility to "protect" or notify my dog owner neighbors when I treat my lawn. Believe me, I have had a neighbor request that I tell them when I treat my lawn so that they would not allow their dog to use my yard. I hope that my lack of response along with my incredulous look was sufficient. Like I said before, I love animals but I do not believe that it is asking too much for other folks to respect a neighbor's property. If signs were allowed here, I would post a warning.

However, I do see dog owners who are disrespectful of other’s property. Dogs don’t need to walk on extension leashes and they don’t need to be in the middle of your yard. The edge 2-3 feet is enough and makes it easy to pick up after them. On the other hand, get over yourself. If you find a way to keep the rats, birds, rabbits, worms, roaches, etc. from pooping in your yard, please let the rest of us know. |
