I think this thread is more about the lack of respect that dog people show for others' property. After all the dog is on the end of the leash, not holding it.

I don't have a dog. No matter what the issue, there will always be a small percentage of folks who don't think the rules pertain to them and they don't care less about anyone. Unfortunately, it ruins it for the rest.

Impossible to make a reasonable request to those who are unreasonable. Dog owners in TV see the world as their toilet.

Yes there are many folks that complain about dogs using their lawns. Agreement will never happen. Why get upset about it? At least the dog walkers around here clean up after their dogs. What do you do about the plethora of wild life that uses your lawn? Nobody cleans up after them. There are raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, and fowl pooping on lawns everyday. Then there are the numerous reptiles defecating and shedding skin. Oh yes the overhead droppings too. Complaining about dog walkers who pick after their dogs is actually something that defines crabby old people.

Yes, it not about the dog at all, it’s about the many owners that give dogs a bad rap!

The wildlife that may/MAY use our yards, do not have disrespectful owners that are so selfish that they could not care less about the opinion or feelings of their neighbor that might put thousands into their landscaping. Oh, but those same folks that do not care about their neighbor will be deeply offended by a small white cross in a neighbor's yard, or a political flag flying over their property. Respect other's property and if you must walk your dog until it relieves itself, try using the dog parks that the developer conveniently added for your enjoyment. And don't be upset if my sprinklers come on at the same time you and your pet are using my yard as a dog park. After all, that is really my right.

But it really doesn't matter if they pick it up, the smell left attracts many other dogs, to a dog it is a contest for marking territory. I have witnessed several people allowing the dog to walk them as the dog goes up driveways to the plants and pees on them. Continuous pee damages and will even kills plants. I have seen the results.

You can't have a fence in my neighborhood, otherwise I would install one.

However, on reflection I could install an electric fence that would keep your animal off my yard.

That would not work. The dog would have to be wearing a collar paired with the fence. Electric fences are used to keep your dog in your yard. The fence does not prevent animals from entering the yard.
