GG - It was actually Chuck's reply - but I agree with his thoughts.

In happy 62 post he mentioned his reasons for moving out of TV to stonecrest.Let me start by informing you that I do not live in TV,but as soon as i can I will be living in this perfect utopia will be up sept. 30th till oct.6th looking for our little piece of heaven on earth.Happy62 said same amenities, not quite, cost to join golf course $ 2000.00 then $ 2900.00 a year lets see 2000 plus 20 years at 2900 comes to $ 60000.00.He said he had free access to TV well welcome but I hope that doesn't mean his golf cart is welcome too. In my opinion every one should be welcomed to TV,It's good for the businesses that operate within the community, but as for parking in the town squares after 5pm I think that villagers should have priority maybe a sticker on the windshield, and nonvillagers some 3 or so blocks away. What is your opinion?

Sounds good to me.

Hurry on down. We are all missing the fun. Here I am with a house in Hadley on a very hot sticky Cincinnati day, when I could be in TV and have the same.

I would assume that the $2900 per year pays for all greens fees. If you played at one of the championship courses in TV you'd pay around $30 per round (average between summer and winter costs). Two times per week times 50 weeks = $3000 so that's kind of a wash. There are a lot of other comparisons that could be drawn such as only having the choice of one course, no 'free' execs etc but that cost comparison you gave doesn't really hold.

8) Well Russ it holds true when all you play is the execs. And thats mostly what I will be playing. But the real question is that they will be using the golf paths and parking at the town squares.maybe thats allowed in Norton mass. its a little different in east Boston. :cop:

It may hold true but it's apples to oranges. Full size course to execs. Don't get me wrong. I love the variety that TV offers for us golfers but even those in other surrounding communities can play them as well for a higher fee.

No question you could have a hot, sticky day in TV today and yesterday and tomorrow and tomorrow and ..... The humidity is winning and I STILL love TV.

Most of villages amenities are open to the public, in fact the public is encouraged to use them. The only villages amenities that are strictly for residents (and their guests) are the executive courses, rec centers and pools and Katy Belle's. Stonecrest, Spruce Creek South, Spruce Creek, Water Oak, Orange Blossom, etc, etc, have all those things except the last one which is survivable. I would imagine that the population of the many other retirement communities near TV is probably around 30K and most of those people do a lot of their spending in the villages - as was the intent of the TV developer.

Chuck.

I am trying to think of communities close by other than StoneCrest and the one adjacent to Lake Miona, I can think of one more on 441, other than that, all that comes to my mind are the areas outside the municipalities with sporadic and little groups of homes and the isolated homes that look like they have been there for a long time. There is also a community of manufactured homes I saw. 30 thousand more folks in other communties. We, TV, are supposedly 70 K if we were all there at the same time. We must be almost as big as Ocala. Maybe I am wrong.

Remember, I am very much a newby.I love maps ,love navigating around and seeing what is there. We found some easier routes going north and south that we didn't have to go through the villages. Driving a car of course.

I am interested in what is around us.

Anyway, friends, educate me. What are the other developments and how big are they? and how close? There is a Dell Webb. What is that called?

We have moved enough things in to "exist" three weeks ago. We won't be selling our home in West Chester just yet, or maybe not at all. We look to share time eventually equally between the two places as long as our daughter and grandchildren are in West Chester.

My husband is still not quite retired, but that is coming soon. Our plans right now are to return in the fall for an undetermined length of time. I am busily sewing, painting pictures for the walls and accumulating accessories and thinking about our house on Havana Trail every available minute. PM me of where you live in Dayton. We Buckeyes have an opportunity for some great partys!

We made the visit and the whole tour. However, we were looking at other States and communities. We have chosen another State. Our biggest minus for TV was actually FL weather. Neither one of us could get past the humidity. It kept us indoors, which is so opposite of our personalities and we love playing golf, etc. My wife actually gets ill. We tried playing 18 a couple of days and couldn't even finish.

We thoroughly enjoy reading the posts (mostly !!) and would love to continue to read and sometimes post if that is permissible from time to time.

God Bless you all.
