I'm not a big fan of the POA. However IMHO, to dismiss the POA as negative and unnecessary is perhaps unwise. You may need them in your corner some day. I do believe that many Villagers might turn to the POA if they had an important issue that couldn't be resolved with Village management.

This was started by Harold Swartz (The DEVELOPER) and the villagers in the Historic section of the Villages as this was the original Villages.

The Village Homeowners Association was started in the 90s????????? I think, after a dispute between the orginal villagers and the developer Harold Swartz in which promises were made to them and not kept and they went to court to win their right to the promises. The POA is the ONLY ASSOCIATION dedicated to your and my rights and welfare without profit on their minds. I could write a volumn on this but please do research and become involved in this ORGINAL ORGANIZATION.
This is a good post. If I ever leave the Villages it will be because the Developers (who have complete control over everything in here )get too greedy.

NO. Gracie. This is where you keep your foot out of your mouth. Sit down, Shut up, This is not funny. Your being sarcastic, cynical is not altogether funny, even if you don't mean it. STOP.

Say goodnight Gracie.

I didn't get an email about it. >

I can't help it. When someone says what does...."blank" stand for, the devil in me makes up something. Usually off color or ornery. I was going to do that, but there are nice folks in the POA and nice folks in the............whatever the heck the other one is.

Watch me get out of this one.

I'm sure people move away from TV for different reasons. I doubt they move because they don't like TV life style. I can tell you why we are moving "to" TV (we'll be at our rental next week and our Lantana should be finished mid September)...is the lifestyle. My husband and I looked at Royal Highlands, Plantation, Legacy, and others. We could have bought a much larger home (with lots of storage) for less money. However, even though those communities had the pool/s, rec center, golf course (sometimes), etc. it was very dull. TV is alive and its residents enjoy life. That's what sold us. We got a smaller house for same amount of money but we know we'll be very happy. We are looking forward to meeting new friends.
