They're trying to get that road closed off to thru traffic, so I'm sure the police will be extra cautious. A lot of people use that road as a drive through to 441.

Twice out of the 6 times I've had a ticket, I didn't even get a court date. They nolled my violation by mail and I didn't have to show up at all. They do that when the docket is backlogged for lesser violations (such as "excessive speed" as opposed to "speeding" - there's a difference, legally).
Went to court no cop free man

I wasn't even used to the speedometer (mine is digital). There was the sign: "Speed limit 25 mph, you are traveling 31." I slowed down. Too late. There was the police car with it's lights flashing behind me. One ticket for $135, plus points on my license (may be able to take a class to avoid the points).

I am not complaining. i am hoping they are making others aware of this and not to let it have to them.
I’m not picking on you but what was your hurry? I know it wasn’t fast but 25 means 25. Where ever you were going you probably would only gain about 2 mins. even if you were only going 10 miles. I live in the Dallas TX area & I’m guilty of going 75 in our 70 mph zones & if I barely see a car in my rear view mirror I guarantee you they’ll pass me within a mile or 2. When they pass me they pass me so fast I couldn’t read their license plate if I wanted to. Some people will get mad at police but these speeders are breaking the law & police are just doing their job, slowing people down so they won’t kill some little kid. Wiserbud47, you made a good comment!

Chula Vista is a speed trap.

You really have no life if you have your own radar gun and are out scanning cars. Sounds ridiculous! LOL! Honestly I have a hard time driving 25 miles an hour. It’s as slow as a school zone.

The ticket is for driving an unregistered vehicle; it could also be for speeding if exceeding a posted 20 mph speed limit.
Unfortunately it must not really be that enforced since it seems the number of cranked up golf carts are all over the place. Between them and the cars that pass golf carts like on San Marino know good and well they're speeding if they pass golf carts doing 20. I've found the villages to be the most popular venue to speed up and down residential streets without the slightest concern for safety or common sense. be careful out there.

The reason the limit is 35 on most major roads in TV is that allows LSV’s to operate on them. If limit is higher they are not allowed. Could also be that non LSV’s can cross the street only if limit is 35 or less.

My golf cart is set at 20mph, and many GOLF CARTS passed me like I was standing still.....OK, pass me by and I am happy going the 'legal' speed. It always seems guys will push the envelope especially with cars-motors, etc. However when is it too much? The ONLY way to stop it from getting out of hand (30mph) is a fine, a BIG one will do it and word will get out to most?? Maybe??

My wife and I have lived here for 16 months. One of the obvious things we’ve noticed is the ‘overly aggressive’ speed. Rio Grande is 25mph, cats do 40-50! Morse off Rio Grande to 466 is 30 mph. Morse 4-lane is 35 mph. Sumter is now positioning empty cop cars to get people to slow down!!! So called speed traps are set up to get the message across to people. Slow down!!!

I read about the complaints re: the amount (and speed) of traffic on Chula Vista. We live in Valle Verde and have to pull out onto Chula Vista when we go anywhere. We never have to wait for more than one car before we can pull out and I can't recall ever seeing a car fly past us at a high rate of speed. Some of these people complaining to that online news site remind me of people who move near an airport and then complain about the noise. If you buy a house on a through street it is going to take you a bit longer to back out of your driveway than if you live on a side street.

Even if it had been an LSV, the fact that it was capable of exceeding 25 meant it was actually an unregistered illegal vehicle. In the unfortunate event of a serious accident, the insurance company would inspect the cart and deny any subsequent claims.

I wish that were true in Oregon. Cop doesn’t have to show up. The judge lowered mine from $175 to $145 for 5 miles over the linit.

seems like an additional 4 mph doesn't matter, but don't get to 5!
