I meet lots of renters on the P ball courts and are sad to see them have such a short stay.. but good news most have bought.. I avoid any negativity and just move on & find someone happy..

Tale of the pool. "I couldn't be in there pool." I assume a typeo, should be their pool.
In any case there are some strange rules around here also some strange people. I would check what the real story is. There are some pools where people can swim laps.
Some people assume they are chiefs. They need to be told off. Well enough so they realize you will not put up with their xxxxxx. As above, you may have given them power that should be yours.
I love people who correct grammar and other peoples spelling. you very graciously corrected the word their and there. that's important. are you sure you used the word effect vs affect correctly?

oh, and also, typeo? I mean if you are going to correct someone, and try to embarrass them, then maybe check yourself also?

I would imagine the pool they were not welcome was one of the resident only pools but there are plenty of others here they can go to.

Well, my wife still plays golf and Mah Jong with women she met when we were renting...

The house next door to me had 4 different occupiers since 12/2017….most renters don’t care about the property and it shows…

Of course you’re not wrong. Many people are not too engaging with renters. Consider where they originate from. Southern hospitality is not prevalent here.

What is a resident only pool? I have never heard of any pools being restricted to residents only.

I don't think there are any. Some of the country clubs have pools that are restricted to club members.

I hope this is not true. I am arriving on Saturday and will be renting for 3 months. I was hoping to meet new people while I am in TV. Was looking forward to it until reading this.

It is a topic that seems to pop up from time to time. Attitudes toward renters, snowbirds, lifestyle people, etc. The best answer, one already mentioned, is that "it depends".

Depends on a lot of things. Where people come from seems to make a difference; people seem to be more or less open depending on where they come from. But for us, it depends more on commonality of values and interests than on anything else. We've made friends with renters who were gone in a month and who may or may not be coming back (but we still maintain contact). Conversely we have neighbors to whom we scarcely even have interaction beyond a superficial "hello".

So many renters and rentals in the villages which drive home prices .
Without renters , owners would see their home values drop significantly. But go ahead and keep harping on renters .
