... and there is Sumter County transit bus. I believe it has a regular route and may also be available on call for those with medical transportation needs. When I was doing knee rehab therapy, one lady had the SC transit bus pick her up inside TV and bring her to rehab office.

So, yes, many things are accessible and there are other options for those trips you need to take beyond the Villages borders.

The history with Kohl's is almost 2 years old. Since it's conception, people have complained about having no golf cart access to Kohl's store. Kohl's made it very clear from the beginning that they were not interested in having golf cart access. Providing access would be a very complicated process both financially and politically. Kohl's doesn't seem to be hurt by not offering golf cart access. This mall also houses many other stores including Best Buy, and Longhorn restaurant. They don't seem to be suffering either. We will have to wait and see if 5 Guys can survive.

You've been reading the Daily Sun too much. The Villages developer does not want those shopping centers golf cart accessible because it's not his property. And...he will not permit any tunnel or bridge, built by the other plazas, to be connected to his property. It's a matter of "value added" commercial property. You know, that "Golf Cart Approved" thing!

The town of Lady Lake would love for everywhere to be golf cart accessible. It brings more businesses (which pay nice taxes). But the developer wants no part of it and makes all kinds of excuses why it's a bad idea! Interesting... golf cart accessible on Villages property is a good idea; golf cart accessible on their property is a lousy idea.

The developer didn't even like the name they chose: "Village Crossroads Plaza".

The bridge is very narrow and steep grade. I would not recommend walking it, although you probably can.

It is just a narrow two lane cart bridge - steep yes but any cart should be able to make it over it. Just stay in your lane.

If I read your question right you want to know how someone who can't drive a car can drive a golf cart?

I guess it's the reverse of being an infant (baby carriage); toddler (trike); pre-teen/teen (bike); mid-teens (scooter); late teens (first car); adult (many cars).

As you gain skills you move up the list to more complicated vehicles.

As you loose skills you move down a different list.

The reverse - older adult (smaller car); very old (taxi); lucky enough to be in TV (golf cart); wreck the cart (taxi again); even older (walker); so old the body's giving out (wheelchair); last but not least - hearse.

Why not... the typical golf cart is not registered and can be driven by anybody 14 years or older.

However, their safety and the safety of others must come first. An unsafe driver can seriously injure or kill themselves or others. but, i guess if a 14 year old can drive so why not . since the law was made by an adult. is this why grandparents sit and watch kids driving golf carts per past post.

In my case it is the ability to adapt the golf cart to my physical needs and the decreased speed.
