Everything from 100k to 1 Million. And wonderful. Great time to buy and get a deal.

That is how I felt. Good time to buy. We are going to look at courtyard villas as we have a dog and they are fenced in.

Love the idea of a cyv for pets. I would research my potential neighbors very well, very well.

Noise, barking, cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, cleanliness.

Before I bought a cyv I would know more about my neighbors then they know about themselves.

I bet one year from now you will be a very happy villager, posting about it often.

From what I understand, the cost of living in Long Island is no bargain, so from purely a financial standpoint, moving to TV would seem to be a wise move.

If you are contemplating a move to TV sometime after your son's wedding in April, is your house ready to put on the market? Just getting it ready could keep you busy for several hours a week. Does anything need to be repaired, painted, etc.

And how much stuff are you planning on moving to Florida? This may be a good time to start purging, selling, giving away or donating what you don't want to take with you.

If I had it to do over I would leave everything and buy new here. We brought so much we couldn't use or didn't work well here.

What you said echos what I have heard so many people post on TOTV and from meeting Villagers when I have visited TV. They brought and paid for a van load of furniture with them from up north, and after a year of living in TV, they got rid of all or most of it.

When/if I move to TV someday, I will bring my laptop, my clothing, some personal items, and my pet. All furniture will be sold or donated as it is not worth moving to Florida. I am especially looking forward to getting rid of my snow shovel and ice scraper/snow brush.

My house was on market last year. We have a buyer who is willing to wait for us if you would believe that.

I so agree with you on your moving strategy, Schaumburger. I am very intentional about purchases, even now, because I do not want to complicate my eventual move with lots of stuff. I'm sure my husband appreciates my lack of desire to go shopping.

In the summer of 2016 TV started building cottages with a fenced in back yard, mostly in the Pine Ridge area off Moyer Loop. I see a resale on the market now for $237,900. If you're a person who needs a bigger garage, this one has a 2 car and is 3 BR.

Guys come on. You're in The Villages. If you need a purpose there are over 2700 organized groups and scads more not related to TV recreation. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied and exercise your mind. Join some groups start making presentations; ride a bike every day; etc.

If you sit around missing work, it'll eat you up.

Be happy you can do whatever you want now.

Then you are very lucky! I would keep in touch with them if you haven't been recently just to be sure they are still interested in buying your house.

In response to a request on another thread here are two early Del Webb videos dealing with transitioning to a retirement community.

I love this! Circa early 1960s? What's old is certainly new! The familiar refrain: 30 years of work, then retirement... now what? The Del Webb or TV (our preference) end-game is tough to beat...
