Entitled snowbird? Did you check his registration and/or ID?

ID'ing a golf cart is only the 1st step. Almost impossible to do anything against road ragers when there is not contact with a person or another vehicle. In order to do anything a person would need to press charges and prove the charges against the road rager. At a minimum probably would need a video and an independent witness to try and prove the person was a road rager. Even if you win, person would probably get a fine and/or a ticket. Lastly this probably would not prevent this from happening again.

Not likely. Besides, I think my cart goes slower downhill, just like most putts on the greens here.

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel this is a much better idea than wanting police to be taken off the streets and diverting them from doing real police work.
Sadly, you're one of the few "polite" drivers...

So if I have an accident and insurance refuses 9 (or not) can I sue the The Villages Golf Cars for selling me a cart that goes over the speed limit? Wondering.

I continued on my journey to have the guy follow me for about two miles (roughly 9 minutes). Intimidating me? In Florida, that’s “Road Rage.”

Finally he passed, yelling something out the side of his golf cart (incomprehensible over the roar of his englne), but then after his one-finger salute out the back, I knew it was not an apology. Then noticed he was wearing headphones (another FL illegal).

This kind of behavior is way too common in The Villages, but this was the worst yet. Impatient golfers driving like maniacs way over the 20mph speed limit going to and from courses. Wreckless drunks seeing how close they can come to cyclists and walkers after happy hour at the clubs and music venues. Funny? not
(another FL law: minimum 3-feet of clearance between vehicle and cyclists and pedestrials - most states are 5)

I think in the least there should be identification on golf carts. Being anonymous brings out the worst in people with issues.
Most carts have some kind of goofy license plate or flag or something on it that is easy to identify, but, do you really think that people, that are fearful for their lives, will notice any kind of identification on a cart?

No. They usually have you sign a release saying you wanted the speed turned up. The governors on gas carts are mechanical and it is not an exact science like the controller on the new electrics.

The Villages Golf Carts have a policy of automatically resetting the governor on any illegally modified carts. Doubt they would sell one.

I got my new cart from Villages Golf Carts 1 year ago. If I press the accelerator to the floor, it’ll go 20 flat, 22 downhill, 18 uphill or 16 on very steep hill.

I brought my Club Car in to be serviced last year, and asked about the speed. It had previously gone up to 25, then one day I heard a loud clicking sound. After that it wouldn't go over 19. They said they could bump it to 20 but they were only authorized to bump Yamahas higher than 20. I don't remember if they said they could get it to 23 or 24, but it was one of the two. And they were legally allowed to do that. But only with Yamahas.

Training would be my guess. New carry law does not require training to carry.

Not open carry. It is permitless concealed carry.

Right ! It is amazing isn't it, according to the census stats (who knows if correct), but the average educational level of residents of the villages appears to be slightly higher than the "average". Before people get all outraged, this just seems to show there are more high school and college grads than the nation's "average". So one would think, in general, more analytical thinking, exactly as you pointed out, the ability to realize as the number of individuals in ANY one location goes UP, all other events, rather viewed as positive or negative, will increase. So when population is 150K, just as you pointed out, the number of auto accidents to "wear and tear' on golf courses will increase ! Yes, just amazing the conclusions based on emotions sometimes. Simple things like you pointed out... a 5th grade math skill, percentages !
