Drove out today…golf carts filled with breeders grandkids..some even driving. Go to DisneyWorld already!!!
So typical of posts, everything done in Villages is the fault of "renters, snowbirds, etc.!! It's obvious that fill time residents never do anything wrong.

I sympathize. I had a golf carter brake check me three times one day - while I was cycling. Hasn’t happened again though. Stay safe.

What is a "tight circle"?

What is a "postal kiosk"? Where is it located in The Villages?

Maybe you were following the cart too closely, which is not smart.

Love it. Lol. If they don’t like seasonal residents, move somewhere else.

Default Not a Car

Be happy it wasn’t an automobile and chalk it up to no harm done. Enjoy life in the Villages and press on.

I do question the term “common” in your informative post though, how “common”? Once a week? Once a month?

Nah, just ban rentals with an ordinance.

I wish I could have gotten an ID on him.
And how would that have helped?

I yelled “WATCH OUT.” Looking back I said “be more careful around people.” The guy replied FU, the long version. That's all I said, and I made no other reply.

I continued on my journey to have the guy follow me for about two miles (roughly 9 minutes). Intimidating me? In Florida, that’s “Road Rage.”

Finally he passed, yelling something out the side of his golf cart (incomprehensible over the roar of his englne), but then after his one-finger salute out the back, I knew it was not an apology. Then noticed he was wearing headphones (another FL illegal).

This kind of behavior is way too common in The Villages, but this was the worst yet. Impatient golfers driving like maniacs way over the 20mph speed limit going to and from courses. Wreckless drunks seeing how close they can come to cyclists and walkers after happy hour at the clubs and music venues. Funny? not
(another FL law: minimum 3-feet of clearance between vehicle and cyclists and pedestrials - most states are 5)

I think in the least there should be identification on golf carts. Being anonymous brings out the worst in people with issues.
The Villages are a microcosm of America in general. There are some saints AND sinners and the rest of us, who distribute our time between one faction and the other.

My woke side! I’m sorry but I don’t want to offend you but, not everyone in Florida is a snowbird🥴 There probably isn’t 25% of the Village People that were born and raised in Florida so that means 75% flew south at some point!!! Again, I hope this didn’t offend any one…….

Why is it neccesary to make a shot at Snowbirds? I am not one but I never understand the entitlement attitude toward snowbirds. They pay as much in taxes and amenities to people that live here everyday.

I hope this doesn’t offend anyone but, they’re leaving the snow and baby setting chores behind! Again, I’m very sorry if this Post offended anyone…….

I agree with BoogieShooter - Your comment is so sad.
Blaming, calling out half of the TV residents as some sort of posers since they come and go, calling parents "beeders" (which certainly expresses some level of disdain.) Really? Why so cynical?
.
I have only owned a here year, and so far I find TV is a great place. Yes, occasionally there might be someone who acts like a jerk over something, but I'm pretty sure most of us have fallen prey to similar behavior and usually over something not very important. I have found people are super friendly and very accommodating. There's a lot to love here, mainly because of the social life with friends and neighbors who may or may not be full time.

In my experience people who don't like living where they are currently, are probably not going to like where they move next. I suggest you take a minute to consider your attitude. I believe there is a good deal of wisdom in the saying, "be the change you want to see in others."

Owner, renter, snowbird, all residents. This bias exists every where and is stupid. I have no objection to identifying golf carts and think it is a good idea. They can cause a lot of damage to a biker and recently an accident occurred near my home where a biker lost his life to a golf cart hit. Very sad.
