Two questions:

1. How many fatalities have there been in roundabouts?

2. Since the roads leading into the roundabouts, as well as the roundabouts themselves, are not owned by The Villages, how can the developer decide whether to allow the roundabouts to remain?

You need to start keeping score.... I hear about RAB incidents almost every day. Certainly, there have been numerous fatalities by now. Otherwise, you wouldn't hear so much about these 2 lane circles of mass destruction.

The developer owns everything...I'm surprised we don't have to pay toll on BV and Morse...

Not the developer.....the county.

Certainly? Where are your facts?

I'm from Mass and I think they're fine.

It's obvious but I'll say it. In round abouts, or on any road in The Villages or elsewhere, you have to understand the rules of the road and constantly be vigilant for those who don't. You have to drive defensively.

I had someone enter a round about in the right lane next to me and go to the third exit. I slowed down and let him go. My wife looked at me and said, "How did you know he was going to do that?" I said, "I expect everyone to do it."

We have a lot of people who are new here. We have a lot of snowbirds. We have a lot of people who never had to deal with round abouts. Those of us who have been here a while and are here all the time and have learned what to do in round abouts need to watch out for those to haven't.

Those of us that drive carefully and reasonably need to be responsible for those that don't.

Is any of that fair? Is any of it right? No, of course not. But do you want to get in a car accident or not? My father had a saying. "If you'd like, they can put ""I was right"" on your tombstone".

Always expect other drivers to do the wrong thing and you'll reduce the chances of your being involved in an accident.

I read the paper and I read the online news. From what I read, RAB accidents are few and far between. I'm on this site every day and have contact with many Villagers. And I can recall one or two RAB accidents per year.

I don't recall any fatalities at RABs in the 3-1/2 years that I've lived here.

There are more accidents at the intersections of Morse and 466, Morse and 466A, Buena Vista and 466 and Buena Vista and 466A than at any RABs. I have heard of fatalities at those sites.

What has the developer owning anything have to do with anything?

I know of at least three accidents in the past week alone. I drove by a couple of them, maybe just fender benders. And then the one with the car that flipped up by Chatham. Perhaps they're not always reported in the newspapers.

The question is "fatalities", not fender benders.

We need a sarcasm font or emoticon. Memason should have used it.

Roundabouts are becoming more common in other community's traffic planning. If there aren't roundabouts "where I'm from" don't be surprised if they "suddenly" appear in your absence.
