I park one cart to a space and until the laws state otherwise I have no intention of doing differently unless the spaces are marked for carts. I do park 2 to a spot if I am with another person on a cart where we can get closer together. I didn't move here to be told what to do according to what someone else thinks unless there is a law on the books to back them up.. A coward that wants to leave a note on my cart which is my private property had better have a really good reason why or hope I do not see them and I usually do keep an eye on my cart if possible.

Best Advice: Park where you want and can and leave other people's parked carts alone and don't be telling anyone how that must park. NO ONE has the right to tell anyone how they must park or has the right to put a note on it because they think they parked wrong. They do have one and only one option to call law enforcement if they feel it is illegally parked.

If you want to park 2 carts to a spot that's fine, do it, be happy in your own head you did, and leave it at that.

No one has a right to tell anyone how to park but we all should care that there aren't that many parking spaces and we really should share. We don't live here alone.

Easy now.

Just be thankful this is the worst thing you have to be upset or worry about...it's a whole different world outside the bubble.

GG: did you notice MN was not on that list Ya know why? Because people in MN are so nice. They are so nice that there are no four way stops because drivers would all be yielding to one another. No, you go first please...No please you go first Minnesota Nice

You know what else? The person who left the rude comments on the golf cart bet it was a cop because he was unable to issue a ticket

Here is my take on it: There are usually all kinds of spaces farther away. By the looks of us Americans, it wouldn't hurt most of us to park in those spaces and leave the closer spaces to those who have less agility. I had visited several times before I heard about accepted cart parking norms here in the villages. Imagine how many people I inadvertently ****** off.

Default It does take all kinds....

This was witnessed by a friend who afterward told me the story:

A man was driving out of the Walgreen’s parking lot when another car parked in nose first started backing out. Evidently he didn’t see the first car that was leaving and consequently plowed the rear of his car into the side of the other.

The woman in the passenger seat of the car that had backed into the other car jumped out of the car and started screaming at the driver of the other car, who had been leaving the parking lot, to the effect of what right did he have to be there just at the moment that her husband was backing out.

The driver of the car that was hit, listening to this woman and seeming to accept that she was a completely unreasonable “loose cannon,” said nothing to her but instead pulled out his mobile phone and called 911 for a deputy sheriff. The woman’s husband said nothing.

When the deputy sheriff arrived, the woman was still screaming. The sheriff then turned to my friend and the other man standing there and asked if they had been witnesses to the incident. Both said yes, both agreed to the account of the other driver who had been innocently leaving Walgreen’s when the side of his car was plowed into, and both said they would be willing to serve as witnesses. The second man then added that he was the retired chief of police of a small city in Illinois. At this point the sheriff thanked my friend and told him that he wouldn’t be needed, so he left; hence, that’s all I know of the story.

It does indeed take all kinds….

This person has obviously never been taught how to behave in a civilized manner showing respect to others.
Very well said! This must be a miserable individual with little else to do but try to make others miserable as well. Very sad.

Lighten up gang...it was a nasty note by a nasty person, rude but not worth all the lather.
Yes we should be considerate. You can no more dictate how everybody parks than you can tell them how to drive.

(maybe they lived in nyc and never had a car of their own to park before?)
i come from new york. I know how to parallel park. Speakikng of rude, that remark was not necessary. What is happening here???????

My husband was on line at Publix. A man started ranting and raving about The Villages stealing all his money. Hey we live in an adult community with a lot of people who are on the verge of dementia. Have some compassion. Not everybody is walking around in a dream bubble.

I have never been to a parking lot where there are no spaces remaining. If I did see none or very few spaces were available I would definitely try to park with another cart for that time at least for sure. Just because there is not a spot 10 feet from the door doesn't mean there are none available. People doing the 50 yard dash from the handicap spots to the business even from golf carts is a much bigger problem here. Then there are no handicapped spots left for those that really need them like those requiring walkers, canes, wheelchairs, crutches.

I have always found that if you put your 4-way hazard lights on while slowing to a stop most people will get the idea that you are going to do something different than going forward. By using this courtesy most will just go around you while you are waiting to parallel park.

Even without the signal on, drivers of any vehicle on the streets should know that a car stopped just ahead of an empty parking spot is going to back into it to park. Then a thinking person would stay back and give them room!!
Why would you assume the person behind you is a thinking person?

Here's the clincher:

There are usually all kinds of spaces farther away.

During the oncoming time of year, when the population increases hugely, people are sometimes blocked in by carts parking behind them. THEN that is when the frustration mounts. If we park carefully, sometimes we can get a space and share it, if we don't have opening out doors on the cart and we aren't too close to the cars parked beside us.

If we show the skills that we have learned by living longer than the rest of the population and throw in some much needed patience we will get through the parking mess soon approaching. I will do my share by staying away from the squares, but I still have to go to Publix.
