If you think about that 95% number, you would have to question it just on a statistical basis. The graduating class is usually between 100 and 150. That would mean less than 10 students will not attend college! They have at least 5-10 each year that join the service. Not to mention, the 10-30 kids without the grades to get into a school or end up working for The Villages or one of their satelite companies. I'm not dinging on the school, just wish we could have honest conversations about it........ |

Not sure how the FL schools are but have heard (and this is just hear-say) that there are people who want to get jobs in The Villages just so their children may attend the schools here (Charter schools that is). To me that is a far greater testimony than hearing "I hear they're terrible" or whatever....
Most schools have problems! You can send your children to a private Christian school hoping for a conservative atmosphere. That being said...they too will have issues with children and drugs and premartal issues (pregnacy etc). The object of schools isn't for them to form our children and their values (while they can be a force to help with that)---it's up to the parents to be parents and instill into their children from birth on how they must live successfully in society. Helping give them a work-ethic (which is sorely missing today) and more..... Just my humble opinion..... |

but, I forgot to mention that immediate families who live in the 3 county area (Marion, Sumter, Lake) can get special passes to be guests of parents/grandparents/great-grandparents who do live in the Villages. They still can't live here, but they can visit.
Also, let's say you have grandchildren 18 or under who live in Orlando or Tampa. Certainly they can visit you (maybe not technically) more than 30 days; they just can't get guest passes for more than 30 days. |

I was hoping that you could share here what you shared with me. At least some of it.
