Default Wall oven cabinetry needed

We have a wall oven (GE Advantium) that we would like mounted in a cabinet at counter height (there is not a spot available now). We have searched online, by phone, and had several local kitchen places come over for ideas and estimates. There is one tall pantry/cabinet at the end of the row with empty space, window, and further wall space on that wall. We went to the original cabinet manufacturer and they have merged with another company. The style and color we have was discontinued the first quarter of this year. They declined the job.

No one will modify the end tall cabinet to accommodate the wall oven. One business suggested an accent cabinet after the tall cabinet in the open space before the window (about 40" of wall space). The current switches on that wall would need to be moved closer to the window in the open space. But even after suggesting it, they have not moved forward with the project. We would need a small area over the stove tiled as part of the project, too.

We suspect since it is a small job, no one wants to do it.

Any suggestions?

I actually suspect this may be a larger project then you are thinking. Unless the oven is a smaller unit or the cabinet is much wider than ours I cannot see the oven fitting where you want. Then the oven may require a vent through the roof, check the existing installation for a vent. Then you will need an electrician (or plumber for gas) to move or replace the electrical supply. A picture of what you have would be worth a thousand words in this case.
If you still want to pursue this, I believe there are 1 or 2 custom cabinet makers that MAY be able to come close or if you are really lucky match your existing cabinets.
In any case I think you are looking at a significant expense.
I hope others have alternate ideas on this.

Is it the pantry cabinet you want modified or replaced? Is the pantry cabinet attached to a countertop? Does your wall oven have a hood? A picture would be helpful but it does seem it may be more complicated than you believe. You should consult with an electrician to understand the scope of the project. I am not certain the color of your cabinets, however, from your description, It sounds like an identical match is not possible. An accent cabinet may look odd. A custom cabinet maker is your best choice. They may be able to closely match.

Contact American Dream Cabinets… they are on FB or you can Google them. He does only custom work and his work is excellent at a fair price!

I am familiar with the budget required. Saved my pennies to install a professional kitchen in Lebanon, PA 16+ years ago. Hence the movement to upgrade the Village kitchen so I can get cooking. We are second owners of our house built about 2018. Original owners removed the gas stove and put in an electric. Usual overhead microwave. Best Buy had their Black Friday sale and we grabbed a higher end gas oven range, high capacity fan hood, dishwasher, and Advantium wall oven. I have one back north. It is sized to fit a regular 30" wide cabinet. Needs to be at least 36" from floor (countertop height). No vent needed. 220 line. Had one kitchen contractor out twice (at their suggestion). Pike's Electric was out twice... etc...

We even tried talking to cabinet makers here in PA. You are probably familiar with what is in this region.

Would appreciate your referrals.

We started out with the idea of modifying the pantry cabinet but no one would bite. There is a granite splash on the countertop side that wraps onto that side of the pantry.

Yes. We are familiar with what it will cost. I have a professional kitchen setup here in PA. Just wanted to get some upgrades in Villages so I can have some fun cooking and baking. See prior msg.

An accent may look odd but that may be what we have to do. Maybe one of the other 'custom' shops will have an idea.

In my original reply I may have misstated some items. I was just in a home that has the oven mounted in the cabinet, what I found out, the oven did not require a vent, and our cabinet was 24 inches, theirs was 30 inches. If the cabinet is the correct width, I think this will be most of your problem solved. I might need some reinforcement for the weight of the oven.
