Sorry I don’t have any rooms for rent. But I see nothing in my deed restrictions that would keep me from renting out a room to you. Good luck and thanks for being a health care worker during the pandemic.

There are deed restrictions and they should be honored because they exist for the benefit of the community. If you do not like those deed restrictions, move out. Obeying them has nothing to do with being young or anything else.

I agree completely with the comments from tophcfa. TV were never intended to have homeowners rent out rooms. If TV makes an exception in this case, what about other similar requests that may come along later?? This should not be allowed.

WAIT. I do not think it is snarky to not welcome people to live in your home at this time during a pandemic. It also is not targeting young people at all and it is not being unkind or inhospitable.

MOST of us are in the age group that it becomes VERY dangerous to contract Covid-19 and MOST of us are being so careful that we are not even allowing our own loved young family members to visit right now.

I think it would be safer for this young person to have a space that is only occupied by him/her until there is an effective vaccine or a means to treat Covid-19.

If all things were normal, many people would welcome a young health care worker and it would be good for them to have extra income.

Please don't think people are snarky when they are just trying to be safe. THEIR grandchildren love them too you know.

Does anyone ever read an entire post, I know it’s hard to not jump right in and make posters feel unworthy.

OP stated mid 20s, looking for lady lake or surrounding areas, or a home nearby, trying to stay near a facility

OP try the daily sun ads online. We know of 2 med students and one resident coming for their clinicals, and are living in an apartment not far from the villages.

Try calling the HR facility you will be working At. Usually you will find others just like you looking to share a place.

Being a retired healthcare worker, I understand you are coming to a new area, usually not by choice. Try to ignore some comments from here, sadly some may end up in your care. There are many old healthcare workers here that understand your needs.... Good Luck and thank you for working during these hard times

Your worried about a young person but it’s fine to go to out to eat or go to Walmart? I would trust my life with the young person every time!

Well, as an RN I must say it's okay when we are in the hospital taking care of you and your sick family members but its not ok to be in your home?
quite hypocritical and yes, snarky too.

[QUOTE=graciegirl;1834544]Well since you are a health care professional you must be aware there is a pandemic and social distancing is much healthier than renting rooms to people who are not family.[/QUOTE

Do not want to be contrary or contentious, but I'm trying to follow this line of thinking. Since there is a "pandemic", "social distancing" is much "healthier" (??) than "renting rooms to non family". There fore (I guess) the "logic" is social distancing is not needed with family because...... ? Because family members can not bring or carry virus into a space, no that can't be it. Think maybe another answer on here is more fact based; renting a room could be considered sub-letting.

Anyway, to repeat, not being contentious, but I am amazed and actually interested (even though retired) in HOW people "think and reason". Seems posts these days always lead back to emotionally based elements ? It's interesting, and enlightening actually, to read not just the opinions, but the what people base their opinions on. I've noticed a trend (a result of the virus ?) toward fear that I have never noticed in past years when it was flu season. Maybe if they'd get some music going on the squares, peoples' outlooks would soar ?

OMG another SANE person. God bless you for your ability to read and understand a post. But, honestly, you know as well as I do..... many will not carefully read, nor understand, your wise words ! This virus thing seems to be effecting a lot of minds.

Maybe check at the hospitals or nursing homes if they have an online bulletin board where you can post? Thank you for being in the profession.

first of all...yes, I know this is a 'Villages' talk page, but it seems there are folks that somehow are on this page, that are not Villagers. He said Lady Lake/Wildwood area. He didn't say The Villages, BUT, you DO KNOW, that renting happens here. He may not be eligible for priviledges, but doens't sound like that's what he wants...NOR, does he say he wants TV! He wants a place in the area of his work, it sounds like, and, maybe someone in TV knows of a place/situation that could work for him!! SOME FOLKS JUST NEED TO TAKE A CHILL PILL!! (OR 6!!)
