This is just another post to get everyone fired up. They're not done building and they're not going to screw up on a plan that's been working fine all along. They will continue to build but they're going to do it their way and piece by piece. Trust me they didn't get this far by being stupid. The state, counties and villages aren't about to kill the goose that's laying the golden egg either. Look at the jobs that are being created. Last two weeks between Lowe's and the new Body's over 200 new jobs were created and there's more on the way. JMO

Pitch ‘n Putt will get old, retail will be inadequate and construction traffic coming up and down Morse won’t let up for another 10 years, minimum.
Do you really believe that the developers are as short sighted as you are? Have you not seen the maps that have been put out in the paper over the last year that have shown golf courses, retail areas, recreation facilities, and more? There's a lot to come that we know nothing about but guaranteed there is a well thought out plan.

No, they're not going to share with you or anyone else exactly what they have planned, it's their business and none of you yours or anyone else's. They've proven for 30 years now that they have a plan and a product that works and works well. They've changed with the times and needs and have experimented with many different ideas and concepts, some worked and some didn't work as well, we're seeing hints of changes to come even now.

Between March 2002 and September 2004 all of the CDDs between CR466 and SR44 (CDD5 through CDD10) were established. That's thousands of acers of land that were purchased and plans laid out. For those of you who pray at the alter of Harold Schwartz saying he would have never done it like this or let it get so big, you're clueless. Mr. Schwartz died in December 2003 in the middle of this great expansion. He was an integral and driving part of the planning, growth, dream, and success of The Villages. Do you think that that was the end of it at SR44, doubtful, the lots weren't laid out south of SR44 but no doubt the ground work was being done even back then. Did it really make any since to put Brownwood and the Rohan Rec Center all the way at the south end? Doesn't look like poor planning any more.

For anyone south of CR466 who wants to sing the "It's too big, they need to stop growing" song, you need to change your tune, try singing "I'm a fool because I didn't do my homework" because the plans were all out there in the public records for all to see, all you needed to do was look.

In my opinion, Fenney was unexpected fruit when the developer of Wildwood Springs finally gave up and went looking for a way to cut their losses. They saw an opportunity and jumped on it, now the work continues to backfill the gap between Fenney and the rest of The Villages. To separate the two would be a huge mistake, and if they did and they built something new and different, an indoor pool for example, the crying would start north of SR44, "how come they get that and we don't, it's not fair...".

We're just seeing the start of something big, the Landstone purchase, the Baily bridge, roads that strangely end in Southern Oaks, the Cow Hammock purchases, Leesburg properties at SR470, close but unconnected swaths of land, and may other things are just a glimpse of things to come.

The residents of Fenney (not fenny and not fennny) pay for the same access to amenities and privileges that you do. They are part of The Villages without a II.

Elitist comments like this are out of line.

I began another thread last night thanking a Mira Mesa resident for a very unemotional and factual of how the 2nd and 3rd generation family developers pivoted from the original promises of the original developer solely based on greed. he speaks of the mismanagement of The villages Hospital. He speaks of the amendment to the 80/20 rule.

He wants TV to end at Brownwood. He wants the developer out. He believes the developer should focus on Feeney, et al as a separate and 2nd The Villages.

If you are interested his article is posted on the other publication devoted to village news.

Always remember, we are not trees....

Golf cart parking at Disney...lol...I KNEW pretty soon we’d be able to drive our carts there. Remember to put your transponder on the windshield.

An easy 3.5 hour drive............another good reason to have gas vs. electric.

The Villages Hospital was built by the developer and leased to the hospital corporation who runs it.

Is it greed or a for profit business employing thousands and allowing their children to attend the
Charter Schools?

The Federal government is the entity in charge of the regulations on developments for mainly seniors. I haven't heard any changes in that rule of 80/20.

Also, there are 15 or 20 habitual complainers on TOTV. There are 100k residents. The complainers are irrelevant and miserable so they think you should be too.
A lot of complaining about complainers, just sayin'. Anyhow, I'm all for the continued development of The Villages, but I do think that South of 44 may have a different feel to it over the years

I wonder if one of the most successful families in the nation , will take the advice of a bunch of grumpy old fools.

Not verified but I heard they are going to have building lots down here ranging from 1 to 5 acres. That will be a different village for sure. I do realize they have the few 7 acre parcels up north but this would be a lot different as it is pre-planned. Lots of interesting stuff going on down here that has not been done elsewhere in TV.

What do I think? I think, based on what I have read, that there are those who believe that everything south of 466 is 'villages 2'. Funny how many of the concerns are exactly the same.
