I just heard that the oil refinery in Humble shut down. They normally produce 3 million barrels a day which is about 16% of all the oil consumed in the US. Expect gas prices to go up soon. I'm thankful that I'm not longer in the northeast where home heating oil is sure to go way up this winter.

I always took the lock in price at my contract renewal time in August. Another great thing about being here. $4200 in heating oil for the last year in NJ. The furnace also ran the hot water heater. I still don't miss it one bit. So sorry for those people in Texas.

I remember $.25 a gallon and a free glass with a fill up of 8 gallons or more. I'm getting old.

I remember that, too --19 cents/gal. in Plainfield, NJ, in 1955 -- for my first car, a '47 Plymouth Club Coupe.
