Have we all forgotten the first oil embargo? Government price controls made for less supply. Long lines and a black market. A very small example of how government control, socialism/COMMUNISM works in the real world.

I don't know. Big tart is honing in too.

I remember when you could get a pop tart that was nearly covered edge to edge with icing and filled to match.

Now? These things are about a 1 inch strip down the middle. Not only that, the damn things must be 20% smaller than they were, as you could fit 4 more tarts per box. One pair on the side, one pair on the end.

It's utter madness! How am I going to get my fill of a toaster pastry when they shrink them away to just some faux lembas with a bit of filling sprayed in there!

Most important in the shrinking sizing is TOILET PAPER! 😂
Yep, take a closer look. Rolls are narrower - thinking the public won’t notice? Especially evident with Northern Tissue vs Charmin. Northern rolls aren’t even as wide as the holder roller they are put on. Is nothing sacred? 😂 😂

Baking goods are getting smaller too. No more 5lb bags of sugar etc. Evaporated milk, chocolate chips are all smaller portions now too so you have to really be careful when buying stuff for your recipes that say 1- 16oz can or package of something because you now have to buy 2 to get 16 ozs.

As for some of the thicker plastic welded items, one slip and you could lose a finger.
I also wish that my body packaging was shrinking at the same rate as the goods inside.
I swear my butt packaging is behind my knees now!
Packaging was changed several years ago to keep the “crazies” from putting harmful items in a package. It is difficult for some to open a package, but it’s just another sign of the times we now live in. It use to be fun to fly too. Putting fewer bran flakes into a Kellogg box is a marketing tool that works and if it quit working Kellogg would do something different. That’s why they pay their marketing people big bucks.

Yes, lots of things are shrinking??????? as I age. I have gone from almost 6 ft 1 down to about 5ft 10 in about the last 20 years. My hat size has gone down (maybe because of hair loss?). My wallet and bank accounts are dropping. I am listening to less Rock and Roll (and more classical). My weight IS actually decreasing as my muscle density flies strangely away. My serve speed is decreasing. And yes, economically speaking - the purveyors of retail goods have found packaging methods designed to make quantity look bigger, while actually decreasing quantity. And the quality of many products is decreasing and being made of cheaper, and inferior materials. And the middle class is decreasing to the point of non-existence.

Agree.....for me it's New York Super Fudge Chunk. YUM!

Sorry to hear about your butt. LOL.

Several years ago, Bed Bath and Beyond sold these "offset" siccors for opening blister packages. They work great! Not sure you can find them now, though.

I found this on Amazon. It is the same brand as the siccors I purchased several years ago but it looks like an updated version. These will make your life much easier when it comes to opening those blister packages......
