Correct. You bought it, you paid for it, you maintain it, you pay taxes on it. You own it.

Thank you. Very much appreciated.

Or maybe that dog owner needs to have THEIR dog "poop" on THEIR property. Just a thought.

You buy a property in The Villages as you see it. At closing you agree to abide by the covenants.
Once you understand fact one and two, you will have a happy retirement in TV.
Don’t move to a community planning to change the norms. Look for a retirement community with the sidewalks and covenants you want. Be happy.,

Developers do what developers DO. As far as DO-DO is concerned........I would feel somewhat psychotic if I based my moving-to-a-new-community decision on dog poop on the grass. It might be more prudent at this moment in History to base a decision like that on fast-moving world events.

I can see why some homeowners, myself included, would prefer if pets do not pee and poop on that strip of grass that we do not own.
In my opinion, it is just FREE fertilizer. Nature's way.

If dogs excreted on a grass strip between a sidewalk and a street, the dog owners would still need to pick it up, and it would still need to be mowed by the homeowner. So, I think sidewalks would not be a good idea.
Sidewalks would require additional grass maintenance with a weed eater and then more sweeping. And not needed in low-traffic residential streets.

I'm not taking about easements................The actual property line.
Homeowner property line is not the street.

Need to get the street spec's from the county and measure from the center of the street.
You may be correct, but, if so, how can any homeowner prevent a dog owner from allowing their dog to poop on the easement?

Been in Calumet Grove for 19 years as far north as you can get in The Villages. Never had dog poop left in my yard and we have 10 dogs on our block.

If the The Villages had sidewalks would it be as bad to sometimes have to clean up poop on the grass between the sidewalks and the roadway? Rather than a neighbors lawn.
This is a 'springboard' for discussion. Thank you. Marvinh
Endless POOP. Rude, inconsiderate people are everywhere and that includes the villages. Side walks will not cure rude people.

Dog owners, as you will see from posts all think their lil darling is darling. Yet, the chose not to have the mutt go on their property.

There are many solutions. Animal repellents can be purchased. A wiff of hot pepper will quickly train a dog this is the wrong place to be.

Interesting reality, it is a natural instinct for a dog not to go where it lives. The dog's instincts tell it that it's waste carries disease so they trot over to others property and are upset with those who object.
