Gummies are so much better. Better than alcohol. No hangover, etc.

At home on your lanai, it's as easy as setting up a fan to blow it back in their direction.

This was on today's AOL news. Can't disagree. Several of my hs friends that were heavy p-users went on and destroyed their lives with heavier drugs. All dead now; died early.
A lot of people around here won’t read the New York Times because they think it has a liberal bias, but it published a long article in October about the results of a number of solid research studies about the dangers of smoking marijuana. For example, lots of frequent users have a lot of problems with nausea. The editorial staff then published a column against national legalization. I was pro-legalization, though I don’t plan to use it, but I changed my mind and voted against it.

The Florida scheme for legalization was mostly about making money off users while keeping it illegal to grow a couple plants in your garden. Oh, and about letting a lot of criminals out of prison so they can open pot shops and clearing their records.

Medical marijuana is not illegal. Do not assume your neighbors or others are breaking the law. The same nuisance from cigars and cigarettes. A large fan to blow the smell back at them?

The people of Florida have spoken 57% voted to legalize it. So the minority has spoken. And Most of what I see is vaping and really not much smell there. So

You bought the propaganda and pot is used to stem nausea in chemo therapy and in sea sickness so think you are believing what you want and not the truth from first hand knowledge.

Yeah, I smell it here and there but not that much. Cigarettes are much more repulsive. Gummies rock. I don't know why anyone would smoke given the health hazards. But same with cigars, cigarettes.

Regarding the smell I'd go with a fan over making enemies of neighbors. Bad neighbors can be a constant stress.

Regarding the legality, I was against back when it was a Massachusetts issue. I'm still against it and my reason is simple. People (including my own adult children) are not using it for an occassional party drug but an all day crutch. When I was a teen I smoked it but it was only on a weekend here and there when we were out partying. Nowadays people are smoking morning noon and night. I think that is a problem.

The idea that gardeners were not permitted to grow their own plants tubed the amendment. There would have been enough support for skunk weed to be legal if it was written in the amendment as a right, and not a special interests win for growing licensed investors.

It was an amendment on freedom with the chains caveat.

That's a very long statute. Which paragraph speaks to not smoking if your neighbor can smell it?

EDIT to note: Nothing of the sort appears in the PENALTIES section of the statute.

Not arguing against your point but if you change "smoking" to "drinking" the description fits as well. I know this borders on "whataboutism" but do you feel the same about alcohol?

Just in case.... Yes, I do feel the same but I feel both should be legal. We need to demand responsibility not prohibition.

It's an interesting analogy. I still drink on the weekends. Most people I know drink occassionally. Sure there are alcoholics. But in my experience the pot smokers are much more likely to smoke all day every day. I realize this is anecdotal based on my experience alone. But every pot smoker I know (and I know a lot more now that it's legal here) smokes every day. I've only known 1 person to be a full blown daily drinking alcoholic that was close to me in my entire life.

As it was explained during the campaign, Florida law requires that a citizen's initiative amendment be limited to a single issue. If an argument can be made that the initiative attempts to change more than one aspect of the constitution then the amendment is disqualified and not allowed on the ballot. This amendment could have made recreational usage legal OR it could have made home growing legal BUT NOT BOTH.

Pot is very much legal in florida. It’s a very simple procedure to get a legal pot card, and then go to any of various pot distilleries and purchase your monthly quota. Someone said it’s illegal for recreational use; well how do you determine when someone is smoking because they are enjoying it or because it helps them with whatever their situation. You really don’t need to give any medical problems as a reason to have it and you do an online virtual appointment with a doctor to get the card. The whole thing takes minutes and anyone can get the card.
