Maybe this is an option that will make people get along better and allow those who want the feeling of a smoke and need the nicotine high more freedom.
Just a though.

I've been using E-Cigs for about a year now. Totally stopped using tobacco cigarettes! Technically, it is not smoking, but if people see a little plume of "vapor" they start complaining.... human nature, I guess. I use cherry cartridges and it smells like cherries, not like cigarette smoke. Since there's no smell or lingering "smoke", I can now use the E-Cigs in the house, my car and I even used it on a flight to/from Europe last summer, in stealth mode.

From what little research I've done, it seems that nicotine is no more harmful to you than caffeine, albeit very addictive. It's all the other chemicals in tobacco that are so harmful.

Smoke Free . . .

Default Irony ...

It strikes me as not only ironic but would be hilarious if not for being so sad is that between posts #5 and #6 on this thread is a link for info on Lung Cancer Treatment.... (Good grief!)

I've done a lot of research on e-cigs before buying several of them and you are correct nicotine is not harmful. However, it is highly toxic to your skin so be careful and if you get some on your skin ( hands, lips ) wash it off immediately.

I've been cigarette free for over 3 months and could not have done it without the electronic cigarettte. I'm slowly weening the nicotine level down to 0.

So far I have smoked it everywhere with no complaints but I know its just a matter of time and that will change. Have you experienced people in TV complaining about your e-cig?

Just this past Thursday or Friday night my friend was at the square with her hubby and 8 other friends. A few of these people are smokers. The group always sits back by the drink shack where the ashtrays are...making one assume you are allowed to smoke near the ashtrays. As I said before they have lived here perm. for 4 years and know the rules pretty well.

Towards the end of the evening (around 8:30pm) most of the group had gone home. There were 4 of them left (one smoking). A couple (wife and husband around 52-55 yrs) came over to the small group and stood right next to them. After about 4 minutes the woman stated loudly that they were "invading" her air space.

The man smoking(former NY state Trooper) explained they were in the smoking section. That most of the square area was non-smoking and they would more than likely be happier over there....

The man in the couple grunted and started defending his lady friend. That she too had the right to stand or sit where ever she wanted....and should not have her air invaded.

Bottom line is the couples all went back and forth....the invaded air couple finally made some comment about the others not being from around here...no villagers....must be outsiders etc....

There was almost a brawl (so I am told).....

Personally, IMHO, to each his/her own. If someone wants to smoke that is their business...however it does seem that they followed the rules and laws of courtesy.

Why would this couple get so weird about it....just walk away or further down the row if you don't like it.

Just wondering what TOTVers thoughts are....please share.
maybe they need a giagantic sige sayind SMOKERS HERE ONLY

On smoking where it is permitted or anywhere and this is from one who did smoke.

I think that at our entry age to live here that the habit of smoking has gone on for so long and is so firmly entrenched and that in most cases that awful almost irreversible addiction is present. Those of my friends who do smoke are smart cookies so I know they know the terrible dangers of continuing. I know that they have tried to stop again and again. We lost Henry's best and closest friend last Christmas time of lung cancer and he had smoked for years.

So I will continue to hope and pray that my friends can kick the addiction, but I will continue to love them and be tolerant of their smoke and their smoking.

There is nothing worse than a reformed anything. I don't like to smell it and it makes me just plain worry when I see people I like so much smoking.

Have you ever heard the term "horses patuti"? Well in my opinion that's exactly what the Trooper met up with in this case X two... and that comes from one who quit smoking nearly 33 years ago and has had asthmatic lung spasms triggered by being directly hit by a stream of smoke from another's cigarette!

Sounds like the HP's got their jollies by seeking out a target that they could make an issue with and not because of their right to intentionally invade the air space of the one who is smoking then expect them to adhere to their bullying antics by using the "their rights" card.
Anyway, you asked for thoughts and...
