Good point. And when you think about it, aren't all clubs aimed at a specific group? Painting clubs exclude non-painters, Zumba is only for those who enjoy exercising, Honeymoon club excludes singles, the Yesteryear Golfcart club is for those with YY carts.

I came across a quote not long ago that got me to "thinking". "Great civilizations became great because of commonality; their diversity cause them to fail". Berko

What do you think? I see nothing wrong with a snowbird club. However, it could be pretty big! Lots of snowbirds.

We all have great commonality - we are all Villagers, too!

Default Please don't create exclusionary practices.

How would snowbirds feel if there was a club just for "frogs"? .... "excluded" is my guess.

Oh Boy! We are going to need to build more meeting rooms and the scheduling will have to be very precise in order to not exclude any of them, but, there may be a great need for the Snowbird RENTERS only now.
They probably would not be appropriate for the Snowbird OWNER's meetings.

And maybe how about a club for people who cut their own grass, etc. If we play this right, we can eliminate golfing and all that kind of fun stuff, and just attend meetings of our exclusive clubs. I love it.

I wouldn't feel excluded at all. There are many clubs designed for a specific "target audience".

There are a number of clubs aimed at special interests. Some are for card players, other for politics and some for the state you came from. I think anyone that once to try and get a club going should do it. Why should we discriminate?

Why would anybody want to join a club if it doesn't pertain to them. I don't see any problem with a snow bird joining a froggie club or visa versa... but why??? And besides... who really cares?

AND grown up! (That means a little older)

But I don't want to join the Snowbirds Club. I hated leaving and driving up 75, I don't have to do that anymore unless I go to visit the kids.

I was thinking about organizing a siblings club in the Villages. At first, I believed that having a brother also living in the Villages was unique. It didn’t take me long to learn that we are not alone. Is there a club of brothers and sisters? If not, I may inquire this winter from this band of brothers/sisters if there is interest to meet/greet and share our stories.

P.S. I looked through 112 pages of clubs and could not find one by looking at the club name.

You would be so bored.
All we do is moan about the fact that the U.S. government refers to Canadians as "resident aliens".
And the fact that we're limited to 182 days in a calendar year!
And while we feel privileged to be able to own a home in The Villages, six months isn't long enough!
Fingers crossed, there is a bill in the House right now that would allow us to stay for eight months!
But similar bills have been defeated in the past.

Seriously, we have lots of fun at the Loonies and Toonies Club.
I think our membership last year was around 650.
Meetings start in November and all Canadians should come!

See, See? You do too have fun. I could speak a lot of gutteral French and slip in, pretend I'm a newbie from Montreal. Plus we had a Canadian boat once, so that should count.
