I just migrated down Monday of this week. This is the earliest I've ever come down, by about a month, and it's busier than I thought it would be. At least, the non-Villages roads, like 466A, was, but those apartments by Lowe's look to be done, or closer to it, so maybe that's the reason.

I'm here without a car for a month, so I am using my golf cart exclusively, and the MMPs are very quiet compared to the cooler months. It's very nice! I took the cart to the neighborhood Walmart on 466A, and there were empty parking spots all over the lot, and plenty of open self-checkout registers. Also very nice!

Maybe because this is my 6th winter I haven't screwed up to badly yet, although I did catch myself trundling along with the turn signal clicking away. I hate that. I have to wire something up so I can see that right turn signal better in my peripheral vision.

When I do get my car, I will have to be on hyper-alert not to forget that my CRV is not allowed on the MMP. I really hope I don't forget that.

This hysteria over normal summertime warmth is bewildering. There is no climate change crisis, but just a climate alarmism crisis. To make it even worse, the media refuses to acknowledge we're in a 9-year cooling trend.

We got here last Thursday evening and are surprised at how uncrowded everything is. I suppose we are still remembering last winter, but we have been coming throughout the year, at various times for many years, and right now things seem unusually uncluttered. T times are aplenty, no problem getting a swim lane in the sports pools, no wait for lunch at Tropical Smoothie, Publix almost empty, etc….. we could get used to this : )

I’m a newbie (just closed on my TV house in October) but I’ve been in Illinois ever since closing getting moved out of my Illinois house.

I have looked for stats and can’t find them.

What percentage of TV residents are snowbirds?

And when do they (in general) appear?

A friend of mine just checked on my house in TV and said that the traffic today was unimaginably horrible.

Have the snowbirds arrived?

Snowbirds and seasonal residents have begun to arrive but the really high season for snowbirds and seasonal residents is January, February and March. I have never seen heavy traffic within The Villages even during high season.
