She obviously doesn’t need a mask ,she’d kill the Rona with her nasty disposition.

I heard that washing the lenses with any soap and water will prevent fogging. I use lens wipes that have some alcohol in them and I've never had a problem with fogging. The packaging of the lens wipes claims they can be used on lenses that are anti glare.

I make sure my mask is pinched at the bridge of my nose for a proper fit so air does not escape onto my glasses. So.....between the lens wipes and the proper fit of the mask on the bridge of my nose, I have no fogging at all of my glasses.

ALDI clearly has signs up at registers stating that customers are to stay behind the blue line at entrance to checkout aisle until previous customer leaves register. There is also a sign saying only one customer order on the belt at all times. I was there today and it is a great shopping experience when everyone follows the rules, it’s not that difficult.

Wife and I shopping at Aldi's (441) and we started to put items on the belt too soon and the cashier yelled back to us to wait till he had checked out the shopper in front of us. We did not know that rule but we do now. Aldi's is doing a nice job with the baskets and traffic flow in the stores. Felt very comfortable there.

Yes I agree, no need to get nasty. Don't think this person learned here manners in school do you? So there's only one place left, huh!

So everybody is on Pins & Needles nowadays. Extraordinary times we are trying to get through together. The lady had no jurisdiction to direct you in any way. That's why they have a Store Manager. If it is a Store Directive why wasn't there a SIGN clearly stating the policy?

Getting out of the house for a bit to food shop is a treat to some and to others it is terrifying. Different people make determinations on how they perceive the rules. I would think that it wasn't missypie's groceries on the belt that freaked the other shopper out it was the proximity to the other people at the checkout. She just lashed out. I don't think somebody else's groceries on the belt can transfer much of anything in terms of germs.

The remarks in the previous posts about New Yorkers are cute. There is an excellent way to tell nobody involved in this stir up was from dear old N.Y. Don't criticize any New Yorker unless you have walked in their shoes!

Default A simple answer!

I just told the cashier about one behind me. She took care of alerting her to move back and to wait for her turn.

Also, some shoppers were in a hurry! I just ignored them and also pointed my hand pointing back when they saw me.

At the bottom line, let the employees handle the disrespectful consumers!

Masks can hide non-verbal communication cues. I admire your kindness. I would have likely clarified my feelings for her feedback with a clear hand signal... Best choice, not something I'm often accused of.

Be well and continue being kind, we all need people that are tolerant in our lives.

Default Criticism

Criticism can be constructive (that which is to help us improve ourselves or keep us safe) or destructive (often unsolicited and hurtful). I think it’s important to take the time in these circumstances to differentiate the two. Was the woman trying to be helpful, just nasty or a little of both? Sometimes we are quick to judge without understanding the context in which the criticism is made and perhaps not everyone can provide constructive criticism with diplomacy and grace. It happens. What is most important though is how we perceive criticism, filter out that which is destructive from constructive and move on.

I like this quote from Psychology Today: “We are all on separate journeys. We just need to stay in our own lanes. Trust in yourself, trust that you are doing the best you can, and never let another’s lack of security steal your own.”

We have a lot of new faces on the forum again. Really unusual during the time of year that we usually have fewer new faces. But it does add interest and keeps the post numbers up.

Don't anyone let this white hair fool ya.
I am new to posting and new to the Villages. I find these threads entertaining especially since so many activities have been canceled.

No excuse. Should have told her to mind her own business. I guess she would want the whole store empty while she shops. Nothing but unhinged fear and paranoia.

Well, there you go. The OP was in err for loading her groceries on the belt before the previous customer's order was completed. Many posters before this post have claimed there are no signs. Wonder why that is.
