I see it all the time. Mostly, these people don't even carry a bag with them.

Can some one explain why dog owners think the mail station is the place to bring their pets to poop? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to take their dogs out in their own back yard to do their thing? No, they wouldn't think of doing that on their own property.

IMO, the disease of "I don't give a damn" is the primary cause of our nation's ills. It can sometimes make life a bit stressful at the neighborhood level too.

Default It makes me so sad to hear of someone doing this.

Fortunately most people over 55 have been taught well about throwing things into waste cans. (MUCH better than the younger generations.) I believe that is why The Villages always looks so pristine. I find myself stooping and picking up trash when in a public place, if I ever see it, which is rare.

I don't think anyone can ever change a selfish person. I think you were so right to speak directly to this man at the time you saw him do it. I hope it gives him pause.

I think that we need to continually publicize that what goes into the storm sewers ends up in the ponds. They are OUR ponds even though we don't live in the view of one. When we take care of things the whole area becomes even more desirable to people. A good thing for all.

Default All this crap over a bag of poop?

This is a great case of talk overkill. I agree that the nerd who dropped the turd was out of line and should have known better. Perhaps he didn't. Perhaps he came from a big city where it would not be much of a problem if he popped the poop in the "sewer."

What I cannot believe is the bile, spit and vitriol being spread over a stupid guy's disposal of a bag of poop. Is this what is of greatest importance in TV? Is this what old people do?

You will recognize me walking my dog. I carry bio-degradable paper towels to pick up poop. If I put that in the sewer, will that pass muster? If I bring it home and put it in the toilet, I bet it ends up in the same place.

Oh well, please except my sincere apologies if I have offended anyone. I am going back to my research for the perfect dog. Let's see: there is hairless. Barkless. No poopless. Sorry.

BTW do any of you have a dog?

Yoda, do you seriously believe that a flushed toilet ends up in the same place as a storm drain, also if this type of response on a forum bothers you, you may want to look for another way to pass your time....GN

As was mentioned earlier, and I'll do it again...........storm sewers (rain)end up in golf course ponds or the scenic but somewhat smelly ponds (when the water is low exposing the publix bags that had the doo-doo) in the neighborhoods. Toilets and other house drains go in the "sanitary sewer" system.

Hope you paid attention Y, there will be a quiz when I finish golfing, partying, etc.

After a long absence from reading some of the rubbish on Talk of the Villages, I signed on today and started reading a thread close to my heart, the dispositng of dog doodoo by some of the ignorant and inconsiderate residents of TV. As I read, I thought to myself, now is the time for one of the persons being criticized for the practice, to log on and tell us that we are idiots for complaining about such a trivial thing as dumping dog doodoo down the drains. Sure enough, along came Yoda. By God, he even picks his poop up with biodegradable paper and then dumps it. Well, Yoda, you certainly qualify as one of the people here in TV that I want to steer clear of whenever possible. You probably walk around the town squares letting your dog leak on plants and people's shoes too. You remind me a lot of the woman who walks her dog each morning along our street allowing her pooch to deposit his little love loads on our lawns. Caught her one day in the act and when I mentioned to her that I did not appreciate it she replied "I never let my dog do that." My response was, "What the hell are you doing right this moment?"

You were right to mention it. I do know the difference between sewers and storm drains. Where I live the storm drain water is processed just like the sewage. Poops too.

I do not have a dog. I was being a bit sarcastic. My point still stands. Way too much crap about a bag of poop.

At least I didn't offend you. Did I?

As I said to another, I don't have a dog nor do I use paper towels for poop scooping.

Did you know that they have bio-degradable poop bags? What an invention. I wish that I had the patten.
