I have moved a few times myself in TV, my taxes went up each time because the purchase price of the home was larger than my original home. Add the higher bonds and the additional Wildwood City tax and what you are saying doesn't make sense.

I've been considering another move for six months but have stayed put. Main reason being the homes are too near the turnpike and the ghastly electric towers with NO DISCOUNT offered on the prices of the homes. I was told the homes are priced on the cost of materials and the square footage and no reason for a DISCOUNT because homes were selling out quickly.

Again, glad you love your homes and hope to be down there one day myself, but I do know it is going to be MORE EXPENSIVE than when I purchased my home in the North.

I know my truth. Hope you can make it here some day, it truly is lovely. But, it does depend on where you choose to live. I'd never live on Morse Blvd, we let a good house go a few years ago because of the traffic. Have all we need in our little piece of paradise here.

I still do not see how you escaped paying higher taxes unless you sold a home located up north at a high value then bought a cheaper one in the south. But, even if that did occur, the taxes in the south are higher because you have to pay an additional wildwood tax plus the larger bond. Your blanket statement that taxes are lower in the south is not true. Whatever the value of your home is in the south, a same value home in the north has cheaper taxes.

Kind of what I was thinking when I read the post.

You are forgetting Lake county is higher taxes
So we are on our 4th home, 1st home 1100sf paid for second 1500sf, (with some extra,)second paid for 3rd home 1935sf, that home will be close to paying latest build 2800sf, with pool. So yes very doable, one needs to be good with money, and when to buy and sell. Yes our taxes are less than last house.

Who knows how long we will continue to be snowflakes, spending Five months in TV and seven months in Kansas City, but for now that works well for us. The point of this post is that, as far as I’m concerned, south of 44 doesn’t exist. I see no reason to go down there, not that there aren’t good things there, but because everything I need or want exists above hwy 44. I am certainly not bashing that area, I realize there are great reasons that people choose to live there and many, if not most, love it. I think I represent a lot of people who would never consider moving south of 44, not out of a dislike or hate for that area, but just because we find nothing about that area that offers anything that appeals to us that we can’t access north. Please know, I’m not a hater of the new areas, just someone who is very fond of the areas north and with zero interest in the areas south. I presume there are some who feel the same as us, just as I am sure there are others who strongly disagree. Let’s hear it.
We love it south of 44. Our joy overflows when you snow flakes leave and give us more freedom. Enjoy driving to anywhere in TV, since it is awesome in any area.

I see! It is all about where you bought and when you bought. Where I live, the taxes on my home are ridiculously cheap. No bond and bought it nearly 15 years ago. I will be paying thousands more in taxes each year if I leave. Everyone has a different case scenario.

What a stupid post. Please stay north of 44.

Hath not a Villager south of 44 hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Northern Villager is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh?

We have owned since 2010 so few years less than you. We started buying vaca homes, bought and sold every 2 years, upgrade to larger garage and sf each time. We still have our up north home. So our age comes into view.

Since you started with NO bond, one cannot compare to those who bought with small bond. Although when buying and selling, never pay bond off, so it passes on to the next buyer. So that is how one make substantial profits. Since you are looking to move once, that wouldn’t apply to you

Watch out, your biases are showing! I think this place is amazing and go to what I want to do wherever it is. I was a snowflake once and the animosity toward people who maintain their connection to their home and are only here part time is appalling. Everyone pays their share of taxes and fees which support the system here, so if you wish to come and go, it is your right, and none of my business. I almost cannot believe what I am reading, ignorant and rude.

Fresher looking? Younger vibe?
That's funny.

Who do you think replaces those who leave T V? Isn't updating a thing? Bottom line, different strokes for different folks.

I prefer living up by Brownwood, the lol OLD "center" of T V. Best of all 30 miles and growing worlds of T V.

Have fun with all the YOUNG people while you drive up to where the OLD people are enjoying the big shade tree golf cart paths, not diamond lanes or treeless dust bowl paths for the next 15 years, a lakefront beautiful townsquare close in to shopping with rolling hills and lots of executive courses.

If youngness and vibe is one's marketed vision then all the power to ya. There is something for everyone and Middleton will certainly sell one that.

Do you suppose the OP has returned to read the replies to that post? And if so, so you suppose "I wish I hadn't done that" is in play?

The OP has been on this site since 2009. He knew exactly what he was doing when he started this thread. He’s probably sitting back reading all the replies with some kind of perverse pleasure.
