No happy hour does not equal BYOB.
My understanding is that the drink shacks will still be open, just no happy hour...I assume to reduce crowding. |

Could well be but not sure that they would care if folks bring in their own adult beverage.

Did you all see my post about training of the bright tee shirt personnel ? Pay minimum wage (or less and give discounts to golf) and watch what happens. We will be undated with expert sniffers that can identify alcohol in your water bottle. Reminds me of an old time joke - that smells like p-ss. Ah but by who?

That is wrong. From the online news, "When the town squares reopen, there will be no happy hour, at least not initially. Drinks will be available at the bar huts at the squares, but lines will be discouraged."

What's going to happen at around 8PM when the bands go on their last break and the place becomes 80% empty (I know because that has been when we go to LSL for the last 3 years because the place empties out)? Or what about all those who manage to get dozens of tickets for F&F and never show up? In any case, Unless they hire cops to keep guard those "Villages guards" generally disappear as soon as they feel some kind of dispute brewing. In the past on a "popular" band night when it is very crowded they would force everyone to (properly) leave aisles chair free but as soon as a bunch of folks put their chairs in the aisle the "guards" are never to be seen again (or are gathered together talking near the outside sidewalk). They don't get paid enough to toss people out who don't have a ticket or don't pay attention to them and get into a dispute with some drunk dancer. I can't see how they can even close off the squares and only have one entrance. The squares are wide opened, especially LSL. LOL, Are they going to rent Jersey Barriers or part big trucks at the open areas? I see this becoming a big fiasco and I'd bet after the first couple nights they will either make it open to all (Gov Ronny D says go for it!) or just shut it down if they can't keep control. And of course the sidewalks will be packed with non-ticket holders. So why bother? Just open it up.

Not that many. We can’t stay locked in anymore. This world needs to get back working. They longer you stay away from people the weaker your immune system gets. When I started working from home 5 yrs ago, I was catching colds more often. I ask my doctor and he said when you are not around people your immune system weakens. I do medical billing for hospitals you can’t believe the numbers that are reported.

Maybe no one. Just kind of classless when there kiosks for drinks and an announcement that says it's prohibited.

This may be a good way in the future to keep the squares from becoming overcrowded with nonresident from the apartments that are being built outside of The Villages.

While they are figuring this all out, I'll just keep visiting Edna's and Fenny who have been providing us live entertainment all summer.
