At least those who are not a fan of snowbirds, have a different reason to not be happy they are coming.

Risk of transmission outside is low, I'm not aware of any cases traced to interaction in outside spaces. Polo is re-opening at 20% capacity.

There is an exposure dosage aspect to COVID risk that seems to factored by time (+15 min)? in interior spaces. CDC finally recognized the spread by aerosols in recirculated interior air. Recommendation is at least 6 fresh air exchanges per hour for interior air to be safe.

Anyone have a count on the Covid deaths in TV, I thought it was less than 5, but that info could be wrong.

According to the Florida Disaster website, there has been 65 deaths in Sumter County. Almost all those deaths have been for people over the age of 70. Since about 80% of the Villages is in Sumter County, i would say that 5 deaths seems low. The Florida site also states that there has been just over 600 cases of the virus in The Villages.

Sumter County Deaths by Age Group

0-4 years 0 deaths
5-14 years 0 deaths
15-24 years 0 deaths
25-34 years 0 deaths
35-44 years 1 death
45-54 years 2 deaths
55-64 years 2 deaths
65-74 years 14 deaths
75-84 years 27 deaths
85+ years 19 deaths

I can understand why anyone below age 34 would not care about wearing a mask, yet they are bearing the brunt of this. Their economy has tanked, job market bleak, but lets keep this up because it's all about us older Americans right?

One was a prison guard in the 45 range.

Where I am now they just revisited the death certificates, and raised the number another 87

After all Disney controlled their openings, first with invites only, then moving to Passholders only. Then didn’t open hotels to control the crowds, with almost everyone being a Florida resident. It’s worked for Disney by controlling who gets in.
This gives the Villages another possible revenue stream. They could sell priority memberships to the squares or sell seats with waitress service so you don't have to stand at the drink shacks !!

The virus is carried on “larger” saliva droplets that are ejected from the mouth when coughing, talking and even breathing.

The topic is Squares reopening. Let's not turn this into a general Covid/Villages deaths discussion.
