I love the mailbox stickers. I like to see what everyone chooses and consider the whole thing rather cheerful. I have a tiny palm tree on mine, not to identify, but because I just like it.
Seacoastbargain, I'm with you on this. How irritating for someone to take it upon themselves to police your mailbox. I'll bet it is someone who's box is next to yours, and who has no sticker on it. That's where I'd start looking for the perpetrator. Book em Danno! (Relax folks, all in humor) |

The things that people do and worry about when they have too much time on their hands ... It never fails to both baffle and amuse me

For years we've had a sticker on our mail box......the same as 3 around our box. Someone has been removing or defacing them for years. He/she removes them, we put another back. Even tried attaching it with super glue. He/she doesn't usually remove other stickers. The interesting thing is that there was one time that most of the stickers had been removed around the building. The mail lady said that she doesn't care what we put on the box as long as she can read the number from inside. It's a small thing but it bothers us that someone takes it upon themselves to remove the stickers (back of the building only), probably when no one else is around. Seems sneaky and underhanded. Will he/she pull plants from my yard that he/she thinks inappropriate? Personally I locate our box by "landmarks"....other stickers.

I'm glad to know that someone else is amazed that 'stickers' at a mailbox bothers so many people. Everyone spends about a minute getting their mail, yet they are annoyed that they have to look at stickers for this minute or less. Can't we think of something a little more important to be bothered by?

Nope! T'was not I.
If I was to do it, I would have opted for a Clarabelle sticker or better yet -- Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring . . . that is, if I could find one! ![]() ![]() ![]()

I worked for the USPS 30 years as a mailman and never in my town did we ever care about stickers on mailboxes. Heck we had trouble getting some to put their house # on theirs.

I'll join the "looks tacky" group.
Reminds me of construction areas where there is graffiti and ads stuck all over the exterior of the perimeter wall.

How much time do any of us spend looking at mail boxes? If it's more than 20 seconds a day, I'd be surprised. The postal agents don't care if you sticker your box. If someone wants to sticker their box, why all the negativity? Better to live joyously, and let live.

Just wondering. Is there a tendency to obsess on "baby" issues like mailbox stickers to avoid the "big" stuff in our lives. Kind of like congress. They have no clue how to handle the big problems so they focus on piddling little issues that were never really a concern of the citizens in the first place.
Or do we just have waayy too much time on our hands?
